I just feel that 35(gase) is a bit young to be the guy coaching......although 60 sum is a bit ol as well.

I'm watching the play calling and line blocking on that TD drive and more convinced than ever that we should go for him!

That line had numbers similar to SF's last season, their turnaround with minimal player turnover is a bit awe inspiring.

From 48 sacks given up to 19 is pretty incredible.

One thing I'll give to Big Bro Harbaugh is that he can put together a pretty damn good coaching staff.

John doesnt let ego get in the way. He simply hires the best he can for the job, and gets rid of those that don't carry their weight. He understands his limitations and doesnt let ego, pride, or anything else dictate his decisions. He knows no one is above the team, including himself. I really like John Harbaugh as a HC. Baltimore is lucky to have him.

I'm glad someone else thinks this. Many in the media and in the webzone think Jim should still be in Frisco but I see his ego as the reason he's gone. He just didn't get the fact that he needed to make changes and thought his force of will would allow him to win games. John is a much better coach.

big hire.. that is the only way you can settle the certain segment of the fan base down who hated to see jim and roman go

You don't make a move to "please" the fans

Big Hire = "winning the press conference" too. Which is not something they said they had as their primary goal. Which is why I think it'll be Gase

So true, if that was the case teams would draft so many busts, be in salary cap hell and will have 5 different coaches in 5 years

we have a veteran roster who can win now,, would rather turn it over to someone like a vet coach than a green kid

Yorks arent about pleasing the fans

Fired two winning coaches

Stadium priced out all the die hards

If they're confident w/ the "unpopular" hire and they start winning games, those "empty" seats will fill up. Again, its not entirely a move to "please" the fans.

if Jed wants to hire a good coach he would fly to russia and have no hand at all in this process.

Winning sells tickets. And also builds you a fan base of bandwagoners...which is bad (Miami heat fans) and good (49ers team of the 80s)
I think the Rooney rule is show and pony ish! Interviewing minorities ain't where it is at. What Walsh did actually helps! Give some internships to minorities and allow them access in order to see how it is done and to prove themselves. Interviewing Grambling State University HC solves nothing. It just looks foolish. The best guy is going to get the job anyway so why bother? Now teams should be encouraged to invite minorities into mentoring programs and whatnot and I feel that if you are legit you will not be denied in most instances. Even Donald Sterling employed Doc Rivers
