Going by Jed York's "teacher" comment, the more I think about it, I really wouldn't be too surprised if they went for an older coach. Mike Shanahan could well be the guy and he can bring in his son as OC too. And now if there are so many ex-players being so positive with that choice, there has to be some sort of a valid rationale as to why they would pick him.

From his standpoint I have no problem with it. He ain't a Niner no more but I am and always will be and when I see him I see the guy that was absolutely the right hire at the time we hired him due to his run first mentality and the league being geared to defend passes. you should feel that way,, we do not go to super bowls to lose them, and in my opinion roman and jh prevented us from winning that super bowl, plain and simple,, whenever i miss jim,, i think of that and all of the times he enabled roman and then i see a oc tonight from the ravens not even have to deal with any playclock issues,,,, then its easy for me to forget jim

No, s**t defense. Cutler is a potato but the Bears defense is just awful and they've done a terrible job drafting. Atlanta is better in the drafting department but that defense has some major issues.

With the Ravens winning tonight, does that hurt the odds for Kubiak? Going another week and some not making a decision could put us in a bind.

Not necessarily. Now if the Ravens win next week, then that might change things....unless of course the 49ers have already decided on who they are going to hire and its not Kubiak.

He's just a spectator with a sideline pass. Wouldn't exactly call it a "playoff appearance" More like a TV cameo.

Steve Young also said Marc Trestman would be a great head coach for the Bears.
