If that were true, then they wouldn't be having as many interviews, why waste your time auditioning before a couple of balloonheads that you don't even want to work for for. I think the story is not nearly as one-sided as posters on here make it out to be and I think those around the league have a good idea of what went down and that Harbaugh isn't nearly as saintly in all of this as people around here seem to assume. I think that there were mistakes made all around but nothing egregious enough on the part of the ownership that it would scare candidates away from the opportunity to coach a playoff ready roster.

Bears/Cutler - LMFAO

Falcons/Crap defense - LMFAO

Bills/QB Situation - LMFAO

Raiders/rebuilding team - LMFAO

Jets/QB Situation - LMFAO

49ers - QB check, RB check, WR's check, O-line well maybe 1 or 2 players will be needed otherwise all good no real problem, TE check, D-line could be a small problem but nothing Aldon Smith, Navaro Bowman and Patrick Willis can't help but counter that. Keep Vic Fangio at DC and you're set.

There are exactly 32 positions in the entire world for their profession. Coaches have won Super Bowls and a few years later were replaced and never to be seen from in the NFL again. You don't get a lot of opportunities to make a name for yourself. Ownership would be one of the very last on the list of possible deal breakers. Maybe all things being equal would tip the scale, but I don't think there is an equal to the 49ers job. The team is stacked, and if the cards are played right could possibly retain the majority of the defensive staff.

This would be especially attractive to offensive minded coaches you would think.
According to multiple league sources, McDaniels' candidacy has been championed by general manager Thomas Dimitroff and his top assistant, Scott Pioli, both of whom worked with McDaniels in New England. Owner Arthur Blank, peppered with questions about the future of his front office during his press conference announcing the firing of coach Mike Smith, did not entirely rule out making other changes, and sources said the fate of Dimitroff and Pioli could be directly linked to how this coaching search proceeds.

Seem's like the front office in Atlanta is pushing for the guy who will best guarantee their jobs rather than the best guy period if this has any truth to it.

How's this for a busy day? #Bills contingent interviewed Dan Quinn, Darrell Bevell, and Adam Gase yesterday. Ok, back to the game.

Here's another's opinion from the "other" 49ers message board:

First sentence: a myth. Everyone is replaceable.

Second sentence: I am sick and tired of Harbs being left off the hook for the chaos associated with his departure. The apologies for JH and all the blame being put on the FO are sickening. The blame is much more likely 50/50.

IMO, I tend to think it's more on JH. I think JHs failures with the team reflect negatively on JH. I think he wanted a way out and he played fans and the media like a fiddle, putting it all on the FO. This well orchestrated maneuver was like a well executed complicated play on the field.

I suspect he wanted a way out, and this is why he refused the contract extensions. Accusations by fans that the FO did not offer enough money have no basis in fact. The FO offered enough money to get JH in the first place. Nothing in the world indicates the FO offered too little money in the contract extensions. ] It simply fits fan stereotypes to blame the soft, born-multi-billionaire Jed York, and remove all blame from the hero-jock-HC Harbaugh. Shame on fans for being so gullible. (No blue, no sarcasm.)

JH knew how much easier would be his sledding in his alma matter, UM, he waited for that door to open, refusing the 9er contract extensions, and the rest is history.

Jed can not state the truth of the matter because he is legally prohibited from doing so. Jed's only mistake IMO is his efforts to justify the break up. He should simply state he is legally obligated by contract to maintain confidentiality.

Fans think because of the internet age that every thing is public domain. It's certainly not the case.

One dude's opinion.
Any talk of Niners asking to interview Pep yet?
Maybe he could smuggle Luck out of Indy

I've had that same take myself. The more you dive into this the more one starts to think Harbaugh is a bit of a serpent here. And I find NO coincidence in his dream job magically opening up as he was parting ways with us. I think there is a lot more to HIS side that need to be explored. It's like media only NOW have started to consider poor offensive production as a viable link to philosophical differences. Hello. Most wives sitting next to you who know nothing about football could see the predictability in or offense and question what we were trying to accomplish. Hello!

Jim Harbaugh reportedly on verge of accepting Miami Dolphins offer

Dan LeBatard, of ESPN and the Miami Herald, reportedly said on his radio show Thursday afternoon that Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh has accepted the Miami Dolphins' head coaching position.

An NFL source told the San Jose Mercury News on Thursday afternoon that the Miami Dolphins are on the brink of luring Harbaugh away from Stanford.

"Indications are that Jim Harbaugh will accept Miami's huge offer," The Mercury News' Tim Kawakami tweeted. "Not a done deal, but everything is pointing that way."

Just another typical beauty from Kawakami...he'll always be a piece of work.
