That's not so difficult to figure out. Their defensive slide coincided with Stanton going and Lindley becoming the quarterback, they had what like 80 total yards of offense yesterday, the lowest of any playoff team ever, that means a lot more time spent out on the field by the defense.

Their defense has played fine in the 1st half, they started backsliding in the 3rd quarter and especially 4th quarters of games.

kubiak vs shanny. cant lose with either one, though im definitely on the kubiak side of the fence

wonder why we haven't heard anything of Holmgren…even if he is a no-go expected to hear something by now

Liking the whole Kubiak/Shanahan thingy. 49ers are built to run the football and playaction off of that with gashing PA passes to VD and Quan. Now just gotta get the right Orchestrator either Kubs or Shanny.

Schaub was excellent using PA in Houston for a few years, and he had no mobility whatsoever. I think Kap could do way more damage in that type of offense. He's gotta improve his accuracy however.

When the dust settles you want 3 old guys having a cain fight over who gets to coach the 49ers until they go into a home?

They made it pretty clear they want someone who can be around into the future. The retread coaches would be stable for the next couple years, but 2 of them would be retiring after that contract is up.

I initially supported the Shanahan hire, but the more ive read up on Gase and McDaniels, the more I think they are the right direction. The retreads are better for losing teams who need to be taught how to win. We know how to win, we just need a fresh reset from the offensive standpoint.
