After this weekend's fiasco, I think we can cross out Hue Jackson, Todd Bowles, and Teryl Austin off the list. Wasn't impressed by scheming by any of those guys.

I expect Josh McDaniels to go next, followed by Adam Gase.

Hopefully when the dust settles it will be Kubiak vs Shanahan(s), with Holmgren as the dark horse

When the dust settles you want 3 old guys having a cain fight over who gets to coach the 49ers until they go into a home?

They made it pretty clear they want someone who can be around into the future. The retread coaches would be stable for the next couple years, but 2 of them would be retiring after that contract is up.

I initially supported the Shanahan hire, but the more ive read up on Gase and McDaniels, the more I think they are the right direction. The retreads are better for losing teams who need to be taught how to win. We know how to win, we just need a fresh reset from the offensive standpoint.

possibly but i actually think shanny and kubiak's offenses have been solid. imagine our RBs in their systems. our guys are better than the nobodies these guys made into household names. and even their qbs put up big numbers. we have a defense these guys have never had, with their offense we are the complete package

Despite requests for HC interviews from Bears and Jets, Ravens OC Gary Kubiak is in willing to interview until after Baltimore's season ends.

I guess he figures if someone REALLY wants him, they'll be willing to wait and if not....then he's probably perfect content to continue as an OC for another season.

Maybe a deal has already been done in secret?

They made it pretty clear someone for 10 years and a successor. And Shananhan to shanahan would work that. Shanahan Sr can do 2-3 years and pass the torch for 10 years. I'd bring in Jeff Garcia in for qb coach too. He volunteered to work with kaepernick... and is a qb coach now and obviously knows the wco

So he was in SF today?

I wonder why...
So the topic of the week seems to be zone blocking scheme…..

Would anybody care to elaborate why our o-line is better suited for a ZBS vs another scheme?

Roman made you think our oline is only good at the power running game and aren't able to perform a screen. Watch a real offensive mind come in here and open things up.

But does that mean our o-linemen or personnel are suited for ZBS? I can recall a handful of times we've tried running a RB/TE screen and it failed miserably, which comes back to my question, do we have the personnel to execute such a scheme?

this is the nfl you can't just call stuff randomly every 10 games and expect it to work.
chances are we didn't practice it and we surely didn't run it in games so yea if you just call something and try it, it's not going to look pretty or good most of the time.
everything requires repetition and we had none of that really over these 4 years
consider how good our guards and even tackles are at pulling. coming all the way across formations and things like that.. wouldn't it make sense to think if they can move and block in those tight spaces over great distances that they could probably go forward and do the same thing?
