I think it is shanny. And shanny will bring trestman not his son. And fangio will stay on the basis he is getting the go in a few years. I remember something about shanahan taking the play calling away from his son. And trestman is better for kaep. With what they both did for the running qb steve young I think they are the best fit short term

Older Shanahan couldn't bring his son over anyway, teams most likely won't grant lateral moves when under contract.

I think if they hire Mike Shanahan, it will please a lot of fans especially season ticket holders. If they pass on Quinn, Gase or Kubiyak I think they'll regret it and so will we.

I think it depends who is in charge of the hiring. Shanahan says Jed York and pleasing the casual corporate fan. I'm not saying it cant work out and i'm surprised 40 percent on here want him but just seems like more of a please the fans even if they dont know whats best for them. Kubiak would be a safe pick imo, maybe Fangio with a solid OC as well. Gase or Hamilton would be a risky pick but could pay off long term. I don't know I think a lot of casual or corporate fans are going off big names and they don't know what's best for them. Would be the same people who would say sign Suh to a 100 million dollar deal without realizing their is a cap.
Side note like I said before I'm just glad we are taking our time and interviewing a lot of guys. Making sure we get the right one not just going out getting our minority candidate then going after the big name like Shanahan and hiring him in a few days. So we have Quinn, Gase, Shanahan, McDaniels... Fangio, Tomsula... Bowles, Ryan, Quinn interviewing so far or in the future. I think we will see Kubiak yet especially if they are out next weekend. And still have Mora, Kyle Shanahan?

Still holding out hope for Kubiak. I think he has the best mix of coaching experience, proven production, and he's still relatively young.
I have a ton of respect for Shanahan, I just fear he's burnt out. A ton of other intriguing candidates, but a completely unproven guy is kind of scary for a team like ours. We're expected to jump back into the SB mix next season.

That's correct. Coordinators and position coaches aren't treated any differently under NFL rules. They used to be but I think that changed back around 2000 or so.

Schemes always look great either way when there is talent and the execution is perfect, but someone like Shanny or Kubiak who really knows what they're doing with that type of scheme (the zone is their bread and butter, along with the bootleg and play action off of it), will definitely accelerate our tinkering on the o-line.
We have invested in bigger, more powerful players. But the modern NFL athlete is strong and fast. I can see guys like Martin, Brandon Thomas, Kilgore translating. It's just Anthony Davis who I worry about (and maybe just the overall mentality of the line...for years they've been taught the power scheme). But I definitely don't think you need to all of a sudden invest in undersized linemen. Just have to make sure they can move.
Davis actually played in that sort of scheme in college, Thomas didn't but coming out into the draft it was widely agreed that he would be the best fit in it. Iupati is really the only odd man left out but he's got one foot out the door anyways so..........

Agreed. Although I think Gase is the only winner in that group.
The fans want Shanahan because they know him and his track record. But, most fans are dumb. They never think about anything down the road.
Shanahan would keep the ship stable, but eventually would wear out his welcome like he did in DC. Hes very strict, hes old school, and has a bad temper. He badmouthed RGIII in the media, and has spurned about every owner hes coached for. We need less of that now.
BTW, at one point while with the 49ers after a bad breakup with Al Davis, Mike Shanahan ordered Elvis Grbac to throw a football at Al Davis' head during warmups before a game. Funny, but it gives you an idea of his mindset...

I'd be kind of disappointed if they didn't at least wait a week to try and talk with Kubiak potentially.
