I hope we hear Gase's decision today.
I am pretty sure one way or the other we will find out within today. York and Baalke may even try to force a decision cos they know if Gase says no they will need to scramble fast.
The issue is with either Josh McDaniels or Dan Quinn, they may well have to wait 3 more weeks, not to mention there will be competition too.
That leaves Shanahan or from within.
Like I said, I will be happy to take Mike Shanahan as HC, thus hopefully keeping Fangio as DC and Kyle Shanahan can come in as OC.

I believe there was a report that McDaniels may decide to stay put in NE, thought I saw that at least.

True. But then you have to weigh him against the experience of Shanahan, proven coordinators like Gase, McDaniels and Fangio, etc. Just something to think about for perspective. There was ONE candidate back then and everyone wants him. Now, we can go any number of ways.
It's a great question. My deal is I'm a huge shanahan guy. I think if Harbs was available with the current canidates my short list would be in no particular order shanny (experience offensive mastermind), Harbs (successful college with pro scheme) and Gase (young up and coming offensive wiz).
Mike Shanahan
Adam Gase
Vic Fangio
Josh McDaniels
Jim Harbaugh
Dan Quinn
Todd Bowles
Teryl Austin
Rex Ryan
I rarely see a college HC translate and have staying power in the NFL, hence the ranking.
Those rankings are a joke. Every NFL team would take Harbaugh above all those. Except the 49ers.

I kind of heard that as well, but I can't remember the source. If that is indeed the case, if you discount Shanahan, Dan Quinn is the only guy in demand left and he has been strongly linked to the Falcons.
Well, by process of elimination it is quite possible we may well end up with Mike Shanahan should Gase want to stick with the Broncos.

and we wait for a name
do not take the bait and hold the blame
we wait for a name
no reason to rush this game
just wait for the name
once we do we can begin a new game

If gaze sign with the Broncos, any possibility the 49ers will go after pep? What is their plan B.

I think their plan B is Shanahan, Fangio or Tomsula.
