Interesting dynamic for ex-#Broncos coaches in mix for HC jobs (Del Rio, Gase, Fox): All may try to hire the same assistants. Bit of a race

Hurry up Baalke.

My dude, the man is a romantic. It takes time for him to make his move. Be cool, baby. Be cool.

Maybe Denver isn't as interested as the media thinks. Maybe Peyton's non-commital to return for 2015 is swaying Gase to be a 49er.

But won't be surprised either there is a last minute announcement that Gase stays in Denver.

Yep. Has SB written all over it. Can't wait for the Gase-excuses when it starts to fall apart.

Only his first year
Kaep is the problem
Gore too old, get rid of him.
Etc etc

That may happen but you can't blame the FO this time. The FO got the top two candidates in here over everyone else in Harbaugh and now, Gase, most likely. Harbaugh fell on his face starting Year 3 and crashed Year 4. He's gone. That's not the FO's fault. Now we'll have to see how Gase does in 4 years.
if fangio wants to take his ball home, fine. a coach does not hold a team hostage and if we hire a new coach the thing i will worry about the least is if we hurt fangios feelings,, this is not f**king oprah ,, gee, the way the webzone has anointed him to nate davis status , i just assume if fangio leaves, he will have about 90 job offers to choose from. the only down side of fangio leaving is that he takes his son okoye with him

Sounds like for the 2nd time, our FO pulled in the #1 HC on the market. Obvioulsy, Kubiak and McDaniels removed themselves from the running and we weren't interested in an older Shanahan and Holmgren.

Adam Gase - #1 young HC
Teryl Austin - intriguing
Todd Bowles - intriguing
Vic Fangio - good fallback option
Josh McDaniels - pulled himself out
Dan Quinn - intriguing if you could wait 3 more weeks
Rex Ryan - hell no!
Mike Shanahan - good fallback option

Translation: Suicide fans will still not be happy

I'm not on the Gase bandwagon at all, but it's promising that Baalke is 2 for 2 in hiring the #1 HC candidate, and in both years there has been questions/issues surrounding the front office's apptitude. Baalke is definitely a top five GM.

I would hope Gase wouldn't be dependent on Denver coaches.

Getting Gase out of town is a win for the Broncos. The personality politics surrounding the QB position seem to have gotten a bit out of hand. Despite his obvious talent, Gase was part of the problem.

If Manning is back for 2015, an important part of the OC's job is to nudge the QB back into synch with the game plan and the team identity. And the head coach. Gase seems to have done the opposite.

.........
Gase Was Very Predictable In His Game Planning And Game Adjustments If The Great 49er Fanchise Want To Turn Their Team Over To An Inexperienced Young Coach.

More Power To Them.

Wow, bitter much?
Sounds like what our beat writers said about Harbaugh, until he left, then they turned on York and Baalke. I won't be surprised if the Devner guys don't go after Elway next or maybe they can't get away with that in Denver.

cciowa, what the f**k is that? Dude, we ain't got time for that kind of posting. You are better than that. So, now, you go run. And you keep running and until I get tired.

Damn, a veteran poster coming in with that kind of bunk.

Or maybe they have realized that Gase wants to be the 49ers next coach. I think that would cool their interest.

Located this poll on a bronco forum re: who they want for their next head coach (based on 124 votes):
Gary Kubiak 45.16%
Todd Bowles 9.68%
Rick Dennison 1.61%
Dan Quinn 29.84%
Adam Gase 3.23%
Other (state who) 10.48%

Combed through their message board (forums.denverbroncos.com) and most disliked Gase and some thought it was hilarious he was being considered for HC spot. That said, not sure many of them were objective fans.

Soooo Gase doesn't have a lot of interest yet? Sign the damn contract already! Or GTFO

No...it didn't say "as soon as there is a lot of interest by both parties"..it meant "Balke is looking to fly Gase out here soon...because there is a lot of interest by both parties..

Nah, I can't accept that. I'll tell you this much, while I value the connected and objective fan, a beat writer does have more access. What you have to learn to do is filter through the commentary to get at the heart of the matter. All the writer does is take the "facts" (admittedly, we hope they are facts) and puts a lil' english on it. It is that "spin" that we have to cut through to get to the heart of the matter. For example, niner beat writers harped continuously about Harbs' attitude and abrasiveness. Most of us said something like this:

But the reality is that he was abrasive with them and, it appears, the front office. And that a problem had been simmering for quite some time. So, while I hear you on the general perception of beat writers, I think if we are smart, grab a block of salt, and read what they are posting we can decipher what is at the heart of the piece. Also remember, people are giddy about acquiring a new coach because we want to get the Goodship Lollypop back on course. Thus, we view anything negative about the guy that we want to be a bunch of bollocks.

It's a good message. For players, the message boards may be best. For coaches, the media may have some more insight. We should gather all these resources and start listing out the positives and "concerns." Good point!
