I'm willing to give Gase a chance, just because he's an offensive guy and regardless if he doesn't get enough credit because everyone wants to use the Manning Excuse...at the end of the day Manning is still using Gase's playbook. One thing is for certain, he wants to call plays and that means the play calls doesn't have to travel around the world just to get to the QB.
"By being around him and just talking to him, I learned that he was eager and was willing to work and learn," Mariucci added. "That was pretty clear that was going to be his passion, and his ultimate goal was to climb the ladder as coach."
His passion for the game sounds like Harbaugh to me.

can we please give him or whoever it is the benefit of the doubt before we fire him after one year, when he has not even yet been hired? sheesh

Located this poll on a bronco forum re: who they want for their next head coach (based on 124 votes):
Gary Kubiak 45.16%
Todd Bowles 9.68%
Rick Dennison 1.61%
Dan Quinn 29.84%
Adam Gase 3.23%
Other (state who) 10.48%
Combed through their message board (forums.denverbroncos.org) and most disliked Gase and some thought it was hilarious he was being considered for HC spot. That said, not sure many of them were objective fans.
Grass is greener on the other side syndrome.
Disagree completely. If you go to the Buffalo Bills website, you'll see quite a few fans excited about Roman's style and direction. We lived through it, so we know what Roman really brings to the table.
I'd take that survey seriously, just like I would expect Bills fans to take any survey we had regarding Roman's ineptitude seriously

True. That shouldn't be seen as a negative but a positive...growth.

Other than not being a head coach before, can we list the pros and cons of this dude, Gase?
Pros:
- Super detailed oriented above and beyond mentality
Cons:
untested, no head coaching experience, unsure if can he command a locker room
Pros:
- Is said to work great with other minds and is flexible.
- Well respected once people see him work
Pros:
- Will stay on his side of the ball!!! That definitely works with this team!
Pros:
- Said to be one of the smartest offensive minds in football
- Managed to navigate between Elway and Fox with no negative results to his reputation
- Handled Manning's ego
Cons:
- Fangio will leave
- JSmith will retire
- Gore will go to another team
- Defense won't be as elite
OOH, I wanna play the jump to conclusion game using hypotheticals instead of facts!
Pros:
Dungy, Cowher, and Parcells all love gase and will come out of retirement to be on his staff
Which causes SUH to sign with us for cheap
D Thomas and J Thomas Love Gase so much that they follow him to SF
offense breaks Mannings records
This game is fun!!!

It'll be interesting to see how Roman calls plays now though without Harbaugh in the middle of the play-calls. Roman gets to install what he wants, not what Harbaugh wants.

That said, keep in mind, Elway FIRED Fox and all the assistants, so many fans in Denver probably weren't taking Gase as a serious candidate UNTIL Elway backtracked and claimed he'd meet with Del Rio and Gase. Clearly, if you take Kubiak out, they all wanted a defensive HC.

Remember when we all really wanted Mike McCarthy as head coach? I don't.

He may be an offensive genius, but even Bill Walsh struggled against tough defenses. The niners need a tough cowheresque type coach, not a Sean Peyton.
lol
Besides Pete what have the other head coaches done?? And who said SF wasn't tough all of a sudden?

Agreed as was pointed on earlier in this thread. We were warned about Jonas Jennings and Nate Clements by Bills fans when we signed them. Gee...they turned out to be right. It's something that needs to be considered.

Elway claimed the assistants were still contract and not let go, but were free to pursue other opportunities.

Both are speculation! The team scored 30 or more points twice this past year...one win and one loss. Doesn't it seem likely that with a better, more effective offense the defense will actually improve? As for Gore leaving...Denver had a good run game game last year (#9) dispite losing their top RB (Ball).
