No big surprise but Tony Sparano is telling folks he won't be staying with the Raiders. Del Rio expected to bring in a new offensive staff.

Bring Sparano in as OL coach!!!

Parcells guy also.

What a joke.

Gase resume

offensive ass. for the Lions
QB coach / ass. for Lions, 49ers and Denver
OC the last two years for Peyton

I doubt Gase knows if he can lead a locker room

John Harbaugh fits in an even lower category in terms of HC qualifications.

The most important thing to me is that Gase started literally from the bottom...Jim H. style.

Lol, lets be serious, they know next to nothing about Gase. I trust the judgment of Baalke far more than some some random talking head.

Isn't 95.7 more a Raider station and KNBR is a niner station?

As much as I'm not completely sold on the Gase hire, 95.7 is run by clueless Raider fanatics that think the Raiders are doing everything right. They hate on everything 49er. I remember when they were thinking they were going to get Harbaugh when he left here.

They also think they will get Gore and Fangio.

I learned a long time ago that any time Lorenzo Neal has access to a mic, it's something I want no association with. Never heard somebody use so many words to say absolutey nothing since Marcus Allen was doing sideline work.
Correct me if I am wrong, but Sparano is a power guy and Gase is a ZBS guy.

I don't think we really know what Gase is.

I think Crabs is all but gone (Houston? I know he loves the "Big D" , but I don't know if they will have the room after resigning Dez), Frank and Indy? Maybe. It all depends on who ends up being the coach.

Maybe Gase entices Frank and Crabs to come back, resign at friendly deals. Crabs could have a better season under Gase.

For a short term deal, you essentially tell Crabs, "look, you'll get the numbers now, and once you prove it, we ink you long term." Frank loves the Niners, but a chance at a title is tough to pass up.

With Frank, you have to think he only goes to a SB contender, if they want him. Same for Crabs. These guys have been in the league long enough to WANT a ring instead of money even though the media is reporting they WANT money.

Crabs still looking for money. This is his 1st time being a FA. He will cash in.

You want to get to your second contract, because that's where you make your money for life. Zero chance Crabtree takes a short term contract.

Other than not being a head coach before, can we list the pros and cons of this dude, Gase?

Pros:
  • Super detailed oriented above and beyond mentality

Cons:

untested, no head coaching experience, unsure if can he command a locker room

Pros:
  • Is said to work great with other minds and is flexible.
  • Well respected once people see him work

Pros:
  • Will stay on his side of the ball!!! That definitely works with this team!

Pros:
  • Said to be one of the smartest offensive minds in football
  • Managed to navigate between Elway and Fox with no negative results to his reputation
  • Handled Manning's ego

Cons:
  • Couldn't get Manning to look good against SEA in the SB.
  • 1 SB loss as an OC

SB game:

30 pts given to Seattle based off 4 turnovers (3 by Manning) and a ST TD. Is it Adam's fault manning couldn't handle a snap or was it him throwing those INTs? They produced 2 3 in out's that whole game, so I guess you can put that on him.

I will take all that success vs his failure any day...

If Sparano was brought in, Fangio was retained and maybe an experienced OC like a Trestman or Linehan was added, someone with previous HC experience....I would be so pumped up. I know Gase supposedly intends to call his own plays but I hope he can get an experienced OC to work with.
Have the Bill's poached Solari yet?
Let Crabs go! I would rather see if Gase could bring in D. Thomas!

So? As long as the guy does his job well, who cares?

This. Harbaugh was a long time special teams coordinator and then a DB coach for a season before he got hired.
