yah just read that

Maybe Elway complied with the Rooney rule by having one of his car salesmen conduct a phone interview with a minority candidate for HC.

11 regular season games. For as much of a clown Rex is he does a great job with defense, they also have 3 pro bowlers on their Dline. For all of Romans shortcomings his run schemes were great and the AFC East isn't the NFC West.

His run schemes were great th first two years...not so much the past two and esp. in big games.

I can't attach the link because it's in my Yahoo app. Per SB nation:

Kubiak was John Elway's backup during his playing career with the Broncos.

Gary Kubiak is expected to be named the head coach of the Denver Broncos, despite previously insisting he would stay with the Baltimore Ravens, according to a report from ___.

Kubiak, 53, served only one season as the offensive coordinator for the Ravens after eight seasons as the head coach of the Houston Texans. He has a lengthy history with the Broncos though, and was the team's offensive coordinator for 11 seasons from 1995-2005. Kubiak also played quarterback for the Broncos for nine seasons as John Elway's backup, starting just five games for the team.

The reunion with Elway was evidently too much to pass up on for Kubiak, who released a statement telling reporters that he intended to stay as the offensive coordinator of the Ravens.

"This is a special organization and we, like [head] coach [John] Harbaugh says, are building something great. I want to be a part of that and contribute in whatever ways I can."

Kubiak was considered a candidate for the vacant head coaching jobs of the Chicago Bears and New York Jets at that time, but John Fox was still in place as the head coach of the Broncos at that time. Fox was let go by the team a few hours after Kubiak released his statement.

The Texans compiled a 61-64 record in Kubiak's time with the team and a 2-2 record in the postseason.

Lol at SB Nation.

Ed Donatell's interview for the Skins vacant DC job is early next week. Would be Vic Fangio's DC if Fangio gets the SF head coach job

My guess was Mangina as the DC if Fangio got the HC job. Donatell......better yet. so who will be Fangio's OC, I think that's what everyone wants to know??

I know Tomsula and Quinn like Dirk Koetter.

Koetter already took the Bucs OC job...

If Gase couldn't win it all with Peyton, how the hell is he supposed to win with Kaep?

Better defense

And Kap is already a better playoff qb than Manning lol

hah, in the end its all about getting that Franchise QB.

True..look who is left in the playoffs

Its true. No matter who is the coach I am not sold on Kap. He cant throw an accurate touch pass to a WR in stride for s**t.

Wrong opinion is wrong

Last time I checked, during the first rams game kaps td best touch pass I've seen on the run this year by any qb

With our players on defense, almost any dc would work. Just like Seattle.

If we get a better situational play caller which is anyone, we win a game like the SB and many other games we lost like the rams this year.

huh? Why was he running in the first place? I'm not bashing the guy, he's just not accurate. One play in one out of 16 games played is not a great sample size to say hes accurate. The first Rams game was his best of the year. He was throwing to the next window before the receiver was even there. However its hard to say how he has progressed/regressed since the o-line was s**t this year.

What i mean is Gase could end up our HC and be good, but no-one really knows if a KAP is a SB winning qb.
We do know when the defensive goes to s**t, Kap can win you big games.

Like the Super Bowl? lol sorry I am just not sold on the guy.
Like playoff games against the Packers at home and in GB. Playoff game on the Road in Carolina, NFCCG on the Road in Atlanta when they went down like 17 points. Kept fighting back in the SEA NFCCG on the road last year, was one of the bright spots from that game..

Very very true. With above average OL protection, he will again be a very good qb like he has been before. But now, I think he is better at throwing the back shoulder and jump balls which he rarely ever or need did. He was going to his second and third reads a bit this year when he had more than 2 seconds to throw.

Maybe Gase is Russian. Does that comply with the Rooney rule?

Funny. If the Niners hadn't allowed the other team to score 34 points, that 31 he laid on the Ravens would probably have been for a win, he would have gotten the SB MVP, and you'd be sold.

Anyone else think Gase would be a mistake? I'm sure he will improve our offense ranking, but he won't get us any closer to beating Seattle's D. Unless he adapts to what works best with our personnel (two backs, run first) if he is truly a Martz disciple at heart, we are screwed.

I'm not doing back flips but I'm optimistic. Seeing the 180 Denver took riding CJ Anderson into the playoffs shows he can be fluid. The situation made it necessary and they did it. Adapt. That's all I ask. Don't be close minded.

Ya I think he has shown he can be adaptable, but his track record vs Seattle sucks. In last year's SB and this yr's rematch, Denver rushed for 63 yards COMBINED IN TWO GAMES.

Every time we lose to Seattle, it's because Gore gets shut down and our offense turns one dimesional. If we can't get a coach to figure out how to run on their D, we will never beat them.

It's fair. The good news is that he helped take them to OT last game and lost b/c of the defense. This means he improved dramatically from one game to the other (albeit, the first game Superbowl, he never had a chance with the 4 TO's, etc.). And that second game was IN Seattle. Here, he'll have a new set of personnel to work with and extra time to scout the NFC West. HaRoman got worse the more time they had to prepare. I have a feeling Gase will improve the more time he has.
