Leaves open the option for Fangio to be DC in AZ if he leaves SF

Would be a good hiring for AZ, but advantage goes to us. We know his system but he wouldn't know our new offense.

Pairing a Top 5 defense with an offensive mind that helped guide the Top 5 offense could be dangerous. I am cautiously optimistic about Gase--ESPECIALLY if we can convince Vic to stay. If Gase has any sense of how to use our personnel and is able to get plays off in time then I think the sky is the limit for our offense.

even if fangio goes,, we are more than fine, we got great players who can play in any scheme, i think we still got the d line coach and in my opinion, the best coach on our team last year was the secondary guy. i wanted a older guy like , well it does not matter,, but if this young offensive guy is the guy they think can do it,, i am more than fine with it. fresh ideas, new ideas, a guy who can work with our qb to make him better, who can bring out the best in our team on offense,,, if we keep fangio that is just gravy,,,, if not,, its not tragic, our defense will still be top tier in my opinion.... i just can not IMAGINE, our offense can be any worse than what it was last year.... oh and the o line coach can to buffalo to,, take boone and lupati with you

Vic isn't leaving. When you are the highest paid at what you do, you don't leave that spot until the money runs out.

He was quoted to saying he has ran a 3-4 but "its been awhile"

Well maybe he is worth checking out if Vic goes full potato and leaves....you think him and Davis could hug it out?

I've learned through this whole process that Jason Cole is full of s**t and not to trust anything he says outside of tidbits about Shanahan since he obviously seems to have some sort of connection there.
goes back to last year when they breathlessly proclaimed charles woodson will sign with us, hell with all of them

Chatting with my friend now who is a Broncos fan. He said "get ready for a ton of screen passes." Oh well, if we get Gase, we can re-address that entire screen pass argument and whether our Oline is nimble enough to get out and pass block on the screens. Oh it will be interesting!

At least we know Kaepernick won't be doing 7 step dropbacks on 3rd and long with the opposing defense sending the house and no pressure beaters to speak of.
FWIW Gase news is a matter of time FML

Sources also tell @MarkIbanez2 hiring of former @Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase as @49ers Head Coach imminent
Jeff Deeney ‏@PFF_Jeff

Broncos did throw over twice as many WR/TE screens (3.3/game - nearly half of those to D. Thomas) than the #49ers (1.4/game) this year.

advantage goes to us?

We lose one of the best DC's in the NFL. There are no advantages to that

FWIW, #49ers haven't talked about Quinn for several days. All signs point toward Gase at this point.

This guy is dumb. yesterday he had Quinn as the guy we want while Baalke was in a 8 hour meeting with Gase.

I don't remember him saying that.
Somebody kept posting that BR was reporting that Quinn is who 49ers want.

That would NOT be a good fit at all. Fangio runs the polar opposite of the current, and effective, 3-4 the Cardinals run now.
i am extremely happy.
vic put your pride aside and build a dynasty.
you have that defense as top next season with the offense this guy will make for our team and personnel and you will have your pick of head coaching jobs. 1 more year vic. 1 more year and you'll be the dan quinn of the nfl.
So if the Gase thing doesn't go down...Fangio and Tomsula are out..then they go after who?

joe is right,, yes a head job would be the big goal,, but its all about the money honey, plus he knows he has good players here
"They've got good players and he knows what to do with them," Martz said. "He puts guys in position to have success. It would be easy to do the same stuff over and over, but each week he's going to create."

"Adam is a lot like me in that he's always thinking of how we can do something better or different – or both," Manning told the New York Times. "And he has an almost photographic memory. He can recall a defensive scheme we say from eight games back and remember our exact formation and the play called."

Agreed...he'd play off coverage, pattern-match all game and CK will pass all over them...every pass will be out under 3 seconds.
