Would be a good hiring for AZ, but advantage goes to us. We know his system but he wouldn't know our new offense.

advantage goes to us?

We lose one of the best DC's in the NFL. There are no advantages to that

They just lost a better DC, in my opinion and would have to learn a whole new defense, sounds like a wash to me. Denver (under gase) smashed our defense this past year

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Ya, losing Vic to Arizona would be advantage us. SMFH.

Vic isn't leaving. When you are the highest paid at what you do, you don't leave that spot until the money runs out.
joe is right,, yes a head job would be the big goal,, but its all about the money honey, plus he knows he has good players here

He may actually take a pay cut, taking into account stress and pay vs other coaches, if he becomes a head coach.

For the money he's making now, unless he gets paid phat as a head coach, he ain't going to do it.
On the OP, I meant dangerous as in good dangerous. Also I agree, it would be unwise for Fangio to leave. I'm excited to have a top 5 DC and a top 5 OC on staff and see what happens when you get the right coaching on both sides of the ball for the personnel we have.

If he makes a huge fuss, the 49ers will let him go, they could however draw out the process a little until the Cards fill their DC position.
Could Fangio just leave? and then sign with whoever? Or if he leaves does that mean he forfeits his season?

Rt@49ers_Source The 49ers will name Broncos OC Adam Gase thier new Coach. Which means DC Vic Fangio could leave and become AZ's new DC.

One thing I can say I really like about the idea of Gase becoming HC is that Grant Cohen doesn't like the idea. One of the problems I have with Fangio becoming HC is that Grant Cohen thinks it's a good idea.

I do agree with Cohn Jr on this though, he's absolutely right about the identity of this offense being run first, even if he's been trolling about promoting Solari if we keep Fangio. Not just that we are built to run first, but we succeed at it when we commit to it. If you hear what AD and Staley said, it's not about change and innovation, it's about getting back to our identity and going back to what works.

Right, what are the 49ers going to do without a guy who was incredibly mediocre prior to coming the 49ers. I like Fangio, I think he's pretty good, but I also think the talent on this team as well as the offensive philosophy has helped him out quite a bit.

Prior to the 49ers, Fangio was known for defenses that got worse every single year, I hope he stays but if he has a bug up his butt, he can hit bricks.

If he quits he would have to sit out the year. If they let him go, he is free to sign wherever.

not true in my opinion, one coach does not make a team. we have several very good defensive guys including our secondary coach, who could step right in with our good players and we will continue along there. the possible departure of fangio does not doom our team for years,, that is just comical in my opinion

At least we know Kaepernick won't be doing 7 step dropbacks on 3rd and long with the opposing defense sending the house and no pressure beaters to speak of.

Finally! Kap will need to learn to throw from his ear eventually. Gase likes to get the ball out fast. Glad Hyde has good hands. He could be a beast in Gase's offense.

Sounds painful

No, the 49ers would have to allow him to leave first.
Not sure if this has been posted but this was written last year, I don't like the guy who wrote it ( LaConfora ) but it has great insight.

"Adam is a lot like me in that he's always thinking of how we can do something better or different – or both," Manning told the New York Times. "And he has an almost photographic memory. He can recall a defensive scheme we say from eight games back and remember our exact formation and the play called."

Music to our ears!

Everything sounds good in the beginning, we shall see if he is the chosen one.

Truth. Many though Harbaugh was "the one" too. So we'll see. A lot can happen in 4 years.
