lol I like how when everyone thought Shanahan was the hire, he led Gase by over 10% of the vote, and now that Gase seems to be the guy, hes jumped way on top of the poll.

Vic better not go somewhere else in our division. Or else he becomes an enemy.

Considering their lack of dominant pass rushers and how much Bowles relied on the blitz, I don't think it would work out so well for Fangio with his conservative playcalling. I think pretty much anyone they get will be a downgrade because Bowles was an utterly perfect fit for their personnel. Ray Horton was a good defensive coordinator before him and Bowles did a heck of a lot better.

Serious question: bearing in mind I believe he is under contract to us (quite a generous one, too) for, I think, another year, why should we let him walk and go to a divisional opponent?

Can't see it.

If he doesn't want to stay on the staff they wont make him. They will let him out of his contract and at that point he will be free to choice where he goes next.

So why don't they hold him to his contract and offer to trade him?

Guys, this is a divisional opponent.

Dont think you can trade Coordinators
Thank God this thing is about over

Chatting with my friend now who is a Broncos fan. He said "get ready for a ton of screen passes." Oh well, if we get Gase, we can re-address that entire screen pass argument and whether our Oline is nimble enough to get out and pass block on the screens. Oh it will be interesting!
Gase has adjusted his game for Manning, I'm sure he will do the same for Kaepernick.

This! He should be making about $1 million next year with the niners...not sure he would rather sit out and wait a year to take another job. Unless he goes back to college I believe he stays.

This is one of the rudest comments I have read. You need to be more polite...even when you strongly disagree!

More like Saints LB's coach Joe Vitt with a wig, that's his daughter. Gase loves coaching so much, he married a grizzled old coaches daughter.

so what, if true, we just carry on. i think we have better players than the cards do . i am in the minority here but i never cared one bit about former players and coaches going to a divisional rival,, well i did with charles haley but that was the first and only time i ever cared. why>? cuz we can not control it and if we just take care of things we can control, that stuff does not matter. fangio stepped into a pretty sweet deal with us in regards to our people and he also has a good d line coach and excellant secondary coach on staff with him

Simply put, Fangio would get the most out of the AZ guys. He is a good coach.
oh i agree,, my point is he is just a coach, we have good players and other good coaches on defense that will more than make up for his loss or possible loss

Leaves open the option for Fangio to be DC in AZ if he leaves SF

Would be a good hiring for AZ, but advantage goes to us. We know his system but he wouldn't know our new offense.

advantage goes to us?

We lose one of the best DC's in the NFL. There are no advantages to that

They just lost a better DC, in my opinion and would have to learn a whole new defense, sounds like a wash to me. Denver (under gase) smashed our defense this past year

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Ya, losing Vic to Arizona would be advantage us. SMFH.

How about you look at Vic's past defenses in the league (Carolina, Indy, and Houston) they progressively got worse every year and ended up at the bottom of the league. The personal isn't the same in Zona as it is him SF. As Phoenix pointed out the talent they had in Zona was prefect for Bowles system maybe it's not he same under Vic's system?

What is dumb is allowing your coordinator throw out ultimatums on who will be the HC.

Broncos offense not as YAC-based as many believe. 59.6% of Manning's yards came through the air, second highest number (Kap third at 59.3%).

that's because he's throwing touchdowns from 1 yard out instead of running the ball because he wants some stats.

Gase has been ahead for some time now.

not true in my opinion, one coach does not make a team. we have several very good defensive guys including our secondary coach, who could step right in with our good players and we will continue along there. the possible departure of fangio does not doom our team for years,, that is just comical in my opinion

As good as vic is, no one coodinator makes or breaks an organization. Also, a GM can't make decisions on the likely hood losing a coodinator. If the coodinator was that important your would make him HC. It's clear niners don't see vic as a HC (NFL seems to agree with this as well).
