Rt@49ers_Source The 49ers will name Broncos OC Adam Gase thier new Coach. Which means DC Vic Fangio could leave and become AZ's new DC.

so what, if true, we just carry on. i think we have better players than the cards do . i am in the minority here but i never cared one bit about former players and coaches going to a divisional rival,, well i did with charles haley but that was the first and only time i ever cared. why>? cuz we can not control it and if we just take care of things we can control, that stuff does not matter. fangio stepped into a pretty sweet deal with us in regards to our people and he also has a good d line coach and excellant secondary coach on staff with him

Simply put, Fangio would get the most out of the AZ guys. He is a good coach.
oh i agree,, my point is he is just a coach, we have good players and other good coaches on defense that will more than make up for his loss or possible loss

Yes, it was more directed at commenters who said it would be to our advantage if he went to AZ. Yes our defense should remain top end, but AZ was also top end. Fangio certainly wont hurt.

Also, Fangio saying if hes not hired he is leaving isnt an ultimatum, he just stating if hes passed up he would rather move on. Don't a lot of people do that in their work?

As good as vic is, no one coodinator makes or breaks an organization. Also, a GM can't make decisions on the likely hood losing a coodinator. If the coodinator was that important your would make him HC. It's clear niners don't see vic as a HC (NFL seems to agree with this as well).

If you make a head coaching decision largely based on what a certain assistant coach thinks of it, you're already a terrible GM.

Everybody says Adam Gase will be next 49ers coach, but don't count him out here. He met this morning with John Elway to discuss Broncos HC.

lol I like how when everyone thought Shanahan was the hire, he led Gase by over 10% of the vote, and now that Gase seems to be the guy, hes jumped way on top of the poll.

Gase has been ahead for some time now.

Its been a steady climb away from Shanahan.

not true in my opinion, one coach does not make a team. we have several very good defensive guys including our secondary coach, who could step right in with our good players and we will continue along there. the possible departure of fangio does not doom our team for years,, that is just comical in my opinion

I think he's working for UPS now.
While it seems many believe Adam Gase will be the next coach of the San Francisco 49ers, don't rule him out with the Broncos.

Gase, the Broncos' offensive coordinator, spent Wednesday morning with general manager John Elway discussing the team's head-coaching position.

Gase has been with the Broncos the past six years, the last two as an offensive coordinator. On Tuesday he had his second head-coaching interview with San Francisco general manager Trent Baalke.

The Broncos are also expected to interview Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.

I don't see why Vic will leave to become DC somewhere else

Right, what are the 49ers going to do without a guy who was incredibly mediocre prior to coming the 49ers. I like Fangio, I think he's pretty good, but I also think the talent on this team as well as the offensive philosophy has helped him out quite a bit.

Prior to the 49ers, Fangio was known for defenses that got worse every single year, I hope he stays but if he has a bug up his butt, he can hit bricks.

Here's what I don't get Phoenix...

How many times do you need to tell people to back up off the ledge when it comes to Fangio? 700+ pages in this thread, and maybe once a page someone needs to be re-informed about Fangio and his real value.

Doesn't anybody read any of the previous pages before they come up with their chicken little stuff?

Even a minor web search proves Vic is just an ok coach, maybe even worse than ok. He had historically good talent here.

How many teams go seasons without allowing a 100 yard rusher or a rushing TD? We had ALL-PROS on EVERY level of our defense from 2011-2013.

Donatell will fill in more than adequately, and may even be better if he dials up more pressure.

He can recall a defensive scheme we say from eight games back and remember our exact formation and the play called."

Music to our ears!

Everything sounds good in the beginning, we shall see if he is the chosen one.

Truth. Many though Harbaugh was "the one" too. So we'll see. A lot can happen in 4 years.

all we've needed was x's and o's
singletary just didn't have them at all.
we took a step forward and jim had them sort of but eventually just not enough to last
this might be the 3rd time is the charm situation. where the x's and o's maximize the talent.. and we can all agree we've got enough talent to be a top 5 offense as presently constructed...and it's not being a homer either
im excited to see a vd and macdonald featured offense
im excited to finally use all the pieces
