The 49ers 2015 Coaching Search Thread(All Rumors and News Here)

So, it has taken some time but this is the head coach evolution we have slowly gone through:

1. Mooch: WCO but didn't have killer instinct and we dinked and dunked everything
2. Erickson: Offensive mind that only wanted to run big play. No control of locker room
3. Nolan: Defensive mind but built the structure and locker room "smell"...eventually lost the team due to lack of offensive knowledge and OC turnover.
4. Singletary: we assumed talent was here and we just needed a motivator due to Nolan losing the team
5. Harbaugh: wanted the WCO back but he sort of tricked us on that one...waaaay too stubborn
6. Gase: Offensive mind, attention to detail, and presumably is a good "teacher"

Coaches 1-5 were all missing something be it killer instincts, not a good leader, not enough offensive knowledge, just plain dumb, manic stubborness...

Looks like Gase may have the most qualities of any of the 5 in the list.
Getting more excited about Gase as the more I study the guy. But can someone tell me why for the life of me is Jim Tomsula the leading alternate candidate? I mean really? WTF

FO puppet.
I honestly hope Vic leaves and we promote Tomsula to DC.

-He never wants to call any blitzs
-He always has our DBs playing way to far off of the line of scrimmage on short yardage situations causing easy completions for the opposing QBs.
-He came into a situation with massive amounts of talent, and I can't honestly say he's the reason, and not the players why our defense has always been good every year since he's been here.

It's time for someone else to take over and Tomsula, from all accounts, would be a perfect fit.

YES ! Looks like Gase will end up staying for Peyton's sake.

Which means....MIKE SHANAHAN, come on down !!!!!

LOL yup because no teams want his old as$...I mean has any team requested a 2nd interview with him?

Gase: Yes..

Elway: You don't need to...Just take a look at this...zip

Not sure if I want Gase. Could he really be a leader of men at his age? Call me age bias, but he looks young and arrogant. This is a seasoned vet team. I'm not sure how they would look up to him. He hasn't accomplished as a coach what some of these guys have done as players. Also, he blows versus Seattle.

Who hasn't blown against Seattle the past few years?

He blew on a historical level. .

I'm not a fan of this hire if it is indeed Gase, but if you come in and improve the offense and win a few games players will respect anyone of any age.

No to the McDaniels/Kiffin comparison. He sounds much more mature and less arrogant. As far as commanding respect, you do that by being organized, having an intelligent plan and teaching a successful scheme. He'll need the support of his fellow coaches, which he will have if Baalke and York pick him as HC.

Marvin--he wasn't my first, second or third pick as head coach, but I'm hoping he's the real deal I thought we were getting with Harbaugh--a creative, quick minded offensive coach. We need to keep reminding ourselves that if the defense continues to be in the top five, the offense only needs to improve...not be dominant. Gase is the most upside potential of any coach mentioned, so

He couldn't adjust the Denver offense against the Seahawks in last year's SB. He couldn't do the same thing against the Colts (who copied the Seahawk blueprint ) this past Sunday. How is he a good coordinator again?

damn u elway you horse looking motherf$$^%....do not do this

Elway wants Kubiak. He thinks Kubiak can help Manning get over the hump the way he and Shanny helped Elway.

Elway is probably trying to convince Manning how he won and that was by doing less but being more efficient all around on offense.

He's never won a playoff game without Kubiak. His record as a coach over the past 10 years isn't very impressive. There's a reason why coaches tend to win a SB in their first 10 years or not at all. They end up becoming predictable, their tendencies get figured out for the most part. Belichick might be the lone exception but he's changed his offensive scheme several times during his tenure with the Patriots.

Hasn't won a playoff game since 2005, has ONE winning season in 6 years, has has a issues with multiple FOs, and isn't the long term answer at HC

Well, he's definitely a better option than friggin Tomsula or Fangio so if we somehow strike out on Gase, I'd be down for Shanny Sr....not really sold on Kyle doe (and you know that's who Shanahan would bring).
