What is this raging dislike for Shanny all about? The guy was one of the greatest OC's the Niners have ever had. He's all about attacking, aggressive offense. And he's younger than Pete Carroll, so I'm not sure why everyone thinks he's so old.

Typical webzone behavior. Everyone is convinced that Gase made Peyton (and not the other way around), and therefore Gase being the offensive genius that he is will get Kaep to function like Peyton, except on steroids bc Kaep has a bigger arm and is more mobile. Oh, and the running game will work out by default bc Gore still has "it" and Hyde is a great backup; we'll just pretend that Gase's lack of focus on the run (OUR STRENGTH) is just a hiccup in what is to become the greatest offense of all time.

Oh, and if Fangio leaves (you know, the guy that has made our defense look dominating the past few years), f**k HIM (even though he's said he would love to have Shanny around). We don't cater to losers, and based on our player personnel you could stick a monkey as our DC and we'd still be great.

Oh, and remember how Seattle owned the Broncos O ? Thats to Gase, thats all Manning and his misthrows and dropped passes and bad reads. Clearly, when the Broncos do great, its all Gase and his brilliant playcalling. When they get beat down or ousted from the playoffs, its all Manning and his noodle arm.

In that respect, why even give guys like Shanahan another thought. Who wants a guy that helped develop Young and that monster 94 SF offense. The guy that won multiple SBs with an aging Elway. The guy that made no-name RBs household names by back to back to back x infinity 1000 yard rushing seasons bc of his zone blocking scheme ? We don't need that has-been. The guy that Peyton Manning will credit for his HOF career deserves to be our HC.

He would be a great coach back in 94! How about you look at the stats from the SB, 2 3 in out's the whole game...was gase responsible for those 4 turnovers that equaled 30 pts for Seattle? Nope.

Sure he could have called a better game, but I will take a coach that has had the success he has had over the past couple years with those "failures" over a HC that hasn't won a playoff game since 2005 and had ONE winning season in 6 years.

It looks like Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase is on track to become the next head coach of the 49ers, but no deal has been signed and that means the Broncos are still free to talk to Gase...
In other news, man walks on moon.

Gase is the type of coach the raiders would hire if Al Davis were alive.

Again, Mike Shanahan is 62 years old. That's younger than Pete Carroll and Tom Coughlin, two HC's who have recently won Super Bowls.

Again Carroll and Coughlin have been with there teams a long time. Shanahan was out of football last year.

And your point is evidently that taking this last year off has emptied Shanahan's mind of any NFL coaching expertise he may have gained over the years?

The one who was consistently outcoached and unable to make second half adjustments. The one who was ultimately and unilaterally responsible for one of the the worst second half niner teams I have ever witnessed in my 35 seasons as a fan. He was the one who passed the buck onto player execution, even though that is ultimately his responsibility.

MY GOD..THANK U...PEOPLE JUST DONT SEE THIS

Was he old and stubborn when he created a new offense for rg3 producing the best statistical year for a rookie qb ever?

Seriously, if this is gonna happen why isn't it happening already? What is Gase waiting for? Whoever the new coach is, just sign already so they can start planning the 2015 season. Want to know who's in and who's out on the team.

My point is that Caroll and Coughlin weren't starting out at there jobs at 63. They were younger. They are in there 60s now but have been with there teams a long time.

Exactly. It makes me grind my teeth when i hear people say, "f**k fangio. I don't want this quitter around. We'll be ok with Donatell or Tomsula"

I would like Shanny over Gase for two main reasons: Shanny will run the ball and will cater his offense to colin's strengths AND we will keep Fangio. Shanny failed MISERABLY in WAS but that's because he didn't have a monster defense behind him as well as the talent level. He took Morris, a 6th round rookie, and made him a star. Imagine what he could do with Hyde?! I think his zone blocking scheme would work wonders here, and i think he runs a true version of the WCO.

My first pick was Kubiak but he's staying in BAL. Shanny is a nice runner-up option. But we need to keep our mastermind defensive coordinator.

Adam Gase not a 49er yet, The difference between Fox and Elway may be that Fox didn't want manning and Elways does.
