Sure he could have called a better game, but I will take a coach that has had the success he has had over the past couple years with those "failures" over a HC that hasn't won a playoff game since 2005 and had ONE winning season in 6 years.

Forget the Manning made Gase ... Gase made Manning debate. All you have to know is he won a playoff game with Tim Tebow. He wasn't the OC but the QB coach, which is maybe even more impressive.

I honestly hope Vic leaves and we promote Tomsula to DC.

-He never wants to call any blitzs
-He always has our DBs playing way to far off of the line of scrimmage on short yardage situations causing easy completions for the opposing QBs.
-He came into a situation with massive amounts of talent, and I can't honestly say he's the reason, and not the players why our defense has always been good every year since he's been here.

It's time for someone else to take over and Tomsula, from all accounts, would be a perfect fit.

Even if all of this is true, we were still one of the best defenses four years in a row. For a guy with so many flaws, he sure produced some pretty damn good results. Also, the 2014 defense was decimated by injuries and he still produced.

Gase is brilliant (despite having Manning, Thomas, Thomas, Sanders, etc), but Fangio is replaceable (because he had talent around him).
Gase is the right man for the job (insert quotes by Peyton Manning heaping on effusive praise), but Fangio is not (the quotes about players wanting him don't matter, they're just paying lip service and being politically correct).
The hypocrisy / double-standards in this topic are ridiculous.

If you're not sold on Gase then fine. That's your opinion. You can read up on him and see all his praise but still not be convinced. I get it. However you do realize that if Jed doesn't land Gase we're getting Tomsula. Chew on that for a while.

The coaching search does seem like it is dragging out. I would like this to be wrapped up, too, but would rather have the right guy -- whoever that is -- first.

Exactly, if his X's and O's are sound. The vets will follow. Plus working with Manning doesnt hurt.

Don't get why people don't want him??? I get that he is unknown but every coach needs to start somewhere.

We know nothing about him except that he is a good offensive mind.
