How may other coach's have lost their skills in Washington?

As for RGIII getting thrown under the bus, isn't that what he was trying to do to Shanny by going over his head to the owner?

Go back and watch the payoff game against Seattle and they were destroying the Hawks with a hobbled RGIII until he aggravated the injured knee and had to leave the game. They still had a chance to win, but the backup QB couldn't sustain any drives ad the D finally gave out

So you want to throw out the last 4 years he coached

I'm not saying he is a awful coach and I agree Washington is a awful place to coach based on the FO, but I just don't get why everyone would be in love with this hire?

Throw in the fact that everyone is saying they want a successor in place before he even starts coaching this team. I just find it kinda weird how everyone is planning on the next coach after him lol. I don't see how that is a good long term plan.

Fangio as HC - the defense will remain solid and competitive to keep the team in games. He would just need to bring in an OC we all hope can improve the offensive production. None of us know who this is going to be but Fangio knows this is the issue of the team so I'm sure he has someone in mind. If the niners do go with a DC as HC, it would be hard for me to believe they pass up on Fangio.

An offensive mind as HC - None of us know if bringing in an offensive mind fixes this offense right off the bat. It may take a couple of years. Also bringing in an offensive mind, the defense could take a step back because either Fangio walks because he was passed up or the new coach brings in his own DC. Baalke said this is a re-tooling year, not rebuilding. To me, bringing in a new coach and possibly new staff is sort of rebuilding.

agreed, if we go with a defense type guy for HC. It has to be Fangio
Shanahan with this 49ers team, will go 13-3 or 12-4 Book it, stamp it, write it down, take a picture. In Denver his last few years NEVER had a defense this 49er Caliber. With a nice draft and a couple nice FA signings and a Healthy Bowman,Willis and Aldon screwed on right, 49ers could definetly win 12 to 13 games next year. Imagine Gore/Hyde running behind those Zone Blocks one cut then upfield YUMMMM!!

He could help the offense and i think he would still stay consistent with the run... and if we can keep Fangio on D then that might be pretty solid. (Kubiak did alright in Houston with much less of a team then what we have right now.)

I don't think Kubiak is interviewing this year for HC jobs.

Thats what I read to, heard it lasted over 6 hours. I hope he presented a good offensive plan. If they hire Tomsula, to me, that is a financial move and a puppet move because he's someone Jed/Trent can play puppet with to the outside.

Well I read that he's refusing any requests until the Ravens season is over, which to me sounds like being a HC is not high on his list.

Shanahan had a top 10 defense from 2001-2004. Only made the playoffs twice and was 0-2.

Yeah, sounds like he's happy being OC for the time being.

I guess there was a reason a guy who had won 3 Superbowl's as a coordinator/position coach waited 10 years to take his first head coaching job. Maybe being the top dog isn't his #1 priority.

Less stress...LoL. Plus he has a good QB with Flacco. He doesn't know what he's gonna get with Kaep, actually none of us know yet except he can run and throw it 100mph.

also Fangio is the type of hire that would go with the "reload" type off season. Bringing in a whole new staff points more to a rebuild.

Who would he bring in as OC that we "hope" will improve the offense? The issue was scoring pts....he has been coaching for 35 years and never had a HC opportunity and isn't drawing any interest around the league for HC jobs (none so far). I do agree if (hope they don't) they go DC to HC he would be the pick.

Fangio is signed though the 2015 year and the only way he walks is if they let him go or he takes a HC job elsewhere. How about they grab a offense minded HC to fix what the real problem is and keep Vic as DC?? He isn't going anywhere else unless a big ego HC (Shanny) wants to put in his guys...that's other reason I want Gase. I don't see him re-tooling both sides of the ball, but I see Mike doing that.

Naw, I'm just adding the flip side of the coin to some peoples arguments against his coaching abilities

Shanny is a great coach but he sucks as a GM

When Kubiak took over Baltimore had the 29th ranked offense and Flacco had come off a 22 INT season with a 73 QB rating.
