The 49ers 2015 Coaching Search Thread(All Rumors and News Here)

Waiting game with Broncos trying to cut us of at the path because they were late on the coaching search circuit is annoying...

And for the record, I'm not against hiring Gase, just don't know much about him at this time.

Never bet actual dollars! Egad! LOL!

Yeah, I think we're all in this boat regarding Gase, but he is an intriguing choice and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do...assuming he is 'THE ONE!" But beyond Holmgren, Shanahan and Kubiak (none of whom were being seriously considered) he is the best offensive guy available. McDaniels was right there but his track record is a bit

My opinion on a phone call is that nothing will probably be decided today. IF Elway basically offers Gase the HC position before interviewing a minority candidate it solidifies the mockery of the Rooney rule. I'm sure the 49ers won't let Gase have a week to consider their offer (if there is one on the table).

On the contrary, I believe the phone call will be it, either yes or no. Baalke knows full well that he needs to go to scramble mode should Gase decide to stay in Denver. There is no time to mess around here. If Baalke wasn't rush for time, he wouldn't have scheduled a phone call within the same day after Gase's meeting with Elway. He could have given him more time, say another day or so. There is no point to set up a phone call just to say "hey Trent, I need some time to think about this", that would be pointless.

Agreed. Baalke needs Gase's decision today. And if Gase chooses Denver and Denver ends up going with another coach, he screwed himself.

Welp, we should either be hearing that Gase has accepted SF job and is flying out soon, or that he turned us down and the search continues.

With Todd Bowles landing in NY, Seahawks DC Dan Quinn is now the favorite to land the Falcons HC job, per league sources. Atlanta is interviewing Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin today, and he will have his chance to impress the Falcons, and try to change their minds and anything is possible. But sources close to and familiar with the Falcons' situation believe Atlanta is willing to wait for Quinn, and Quinn is willing to wait for them, and he is the leading contender at this time to become the Falcons' next head coach. Quinn and the Falcons already have met once, and will be allowed to do so next week, whether or not the Seahawks win or lose Sunday's conference championship game. There is a window next week for teams that already interviewed candidates to interview them again. Under the rules, the Broncos cannot interview Quinn, but the Falcons and Bears would be able to do so. Maybe the biggest advantage and lure that Atlanta has is its quarterback, Matt Ryan. His presence has made the Falcons' job arguably the most appealing one available.

Pete Carroll must be laughing his ass off. By the time this coaching staff is assemble it's going to resemble a boy band.

Only problem now is if Gase says no, whoever we go round will know they are 2nd choice!
