If its Fangio or Tomsula. Yes. If not they wait. Gase, Quinn, McDaniels and Kubiak are still in the playoffs.
Quinn was doing a bunch of interviews even though his team is in the playoffs.

I think it's going to be either Mike Shanahan HC and son, OC plus staff or Vic Fangio HC, Tomsula/Donatell/Rex Ryan promoted to DC and I have no clue on his connections/plans for OC and offensive coaching staff.
Anyone else willing to take a shot?
As to my other hopes, I like Holmgren, Kubiak and Gase.
Shanahan and son has a ZERO percent chance of happening. Kubiak would be nice. I have no idea who his OC would be. Rick Dennison would get the OC job in Baltimore.

But they cant hire a playoff coach until they are out of the playoffs.

The question is how long Trent/Jed want to go without a HC. They initially said 7-10 days but if their waiting for someone in the playoffs, it could be almost a month.

To me Kubiak makes the most sense, former QB, can teach Kap, successful in implementing and sticking with the run game, see Arrian Fosters numbers.
Good at the short passing game and using screens, something we NEVER used! Has HC experience and some success with FAR less talent than Niners currently have...

That is the million dollar question. IMO they should wait as long as it takes to get the right coach.

My concern is, if we basically write Fangio off, and go with Shanahan or Gase, then our defense could fall off badly. Fangio could leave, on another mutual parting with the front office. They could try to make Donatell the new DC, but who knows how well that will pan out. We'll lose many more FA's over the coming years, and this team takes a heavy fall back to earth. I just don't think you need to hand to keys to someone outside the organization this time. Fangio is the guy who has the highest chance of righting the ship and keeping everyone on board. If you bring Shanahan in, you're pretty much kissing our defensive team good bye. This is just a thought.

What I'd like but probably won't happen:
HC: Gase
OC: Knapp
DC: Vic
Gase basically re-tools offensive side of the ball bring in who he wants and for the most part gives the defense side to Vic Baalke gets all the control for personal and we win SB 50 in SF

Knapp would probably get promoted to OC in Denver.

This exactly. Don't rush it. It's better to be a little off the preferred schedule if it means waiting for the guy we want, waiting for the right guy than just settling for someone like Tomsula
.

Look at Fangio's track record before he came to San Francisco and then get back to me. He's done a good job but with all the talent on the defense, its hard to believe that someone else wouldn't do very well also. You obviously want continuity but if Fangio is that butt hurt over being passed up, to such an unprofessional degree, well then......bye.
