What I'd like but probably won't happen:

HC: Gase
OC: Knapp
DC: Vic

Gase basically re-tools offensive side of the ball bring in who he wants and for the most part gives the defense side to Vic Baalke gets all the control for personal and we win SB 50 in SF

Knapp would probably get promoted to OC in Denver.

Or he rolls with Gase to SF, Manning isn't getting any younger might be time to jump ship before Den sinks Plus he knows SF (QB coach and OC 1998-2003)

Last two Manning OC's: McCoy (current HC), Gase (will probably be a HC). I think Knapp will stay will Denver.

True true, I just think judging on how Manning has started to regress as the season went on I don't really see that offense rolling out monster numbers like the past couple years...next year might be his last in the NFL.

Still put up 66.2%. 39 TDs and 101.5 QB rating.

down form 68% 55 TD and 115 QB rating the previous year...and during his last 8 games he had a 15 TD to 10 INT ratio.

But ya he does make HCs lol...just think Manning is starting fad a little & they have to sign both Thomas still. Who knows maybe Kapp wants to continue working with Gase

Just throwing out what I would like to see...not saying it will happen.

Huh, some would argue the 49ers have a very good team and would be fools to conclude this process before the end of the SuperBowl. Or at least wait until the Conference Championship is over. This whole, "have to hire a coach before the next guy" thing only works if you're the Raiders, Jets, or.... and even those teams are waiting it out.

The alternative is getting a hot College name and the only one I can think of at the moment is Helfrich; and he has another game to focus. It's not like a new HC needs to be here to evaluate the Draft. That takes place in May (last day of April...)

The year after Manning set the record the first time with 49 TDs he had 29 TDs, 810 less yards and QB rating down 17 points.

Scott Linehan would be a very good fit as an OC. He turned down Singlecell but he'd be an interesting candidate regardless of who is the head coach.

He commented it on recently, didn't sound like a guy who thought he was getting a new job

""They were fine," McDaniels said, via the Providence Journal. "It's part of the process. Always obviously privileged that anyone wants to speak with you about anything like that. At this point, I've moved on and hopefully can help us put together a great plan for our guys heading into this week."

Thanks for recapping the premise. I don't read her articles, nor TK...Cohn once in a while (b/c he has hit a few times).

Former Redskins HC Mike Shanahan also interviewed with the Oakland Raiders as well as with SF 49ers per sources
Holmgren on Seattle radio just now indicating the SF job was one he would've been interested in for many reasons but SF wasn't interested in him; he has not heard from SF.

Says would have had interest in 49ers job but he heard nothing from them. Says has decided he's done coaching.
