This. I think Tomsula is a significantly better choice than Singletary was, but still a mediocre hire IMO, the least qualified out of the guys they interviewed.

The funniest thing to me right now is that I'm happier with this hire than with Gase.

What's important now is who the coordinators are.

I'm highly expecting the OC choice to be incredibly mediocre but perhaps I'm too optimistic.

We could have had the guy who potentially could have turned our O into a sports car, instead we will be stuck with the sedan.

Nice way to go into the season the super bowl is in your home stadium.

Agree...and he will get his chance...he's the coach now and it really doesn't matter what the fan base thinks. Will be looking forward to hear who the OC and DC will be. If Fangio stays OK, but if he leaves there will be major changes next year and likely a rebuilding process--not just retooling. Hope it is quick.

There are some things I question...the camera showed Tomsula trying to rev up the offensive line during a game...what was the OLs reaction? If he was just putting on a show for the boss . But, if the OL and other team areas respect him as much as the DL does then all will be OK.

This, I like Tomsula I like him a lot as a defensive line coach & as a leader of men howvever this is the same knee jerk hire that Jed pulled with Singletary. The 49ers were much better off with Jim Harbaugh at HC than Jim Tomsula, this hire proves the dysfunction within the organization in other words it proves Jed fired Jim simply because he/Baalke didnt get along with him.

Apparently Gase almost talked them into not going with Tomsula, but they did it anyways. With Gase there was a chance Fangio stayed, Tomsula guaranteed that he's gone for sure.

To see if somebody could beat Tomsula. Sounds like Gase sorta/almost did. RT @nourchammas so what was the point of all these interviews?
