One of these guys has been a coach for over 30 years and the other is 36 years old.

One has been in SF for over a decade and has ALWAYS been highly regarded. The other was here for a year as an assistant to Mike Martz.

Say what you will about not being an offensive coach, I gotta tell you, I don't hate this hire. I'd like it if Fangio stayed, but I don't have an issue with Tomsula. Would I have liked a "sexier" pick? Sure, but "sexy" doesn't win games.

What matters now is who gets hired in the coordinator positions. If it does end up being Trestman, we won't have to worry about him being plucked as a HC anytime soon.

Tomsula was the first and only choice. This whole coaching "search" has been a sham.

I like Trestman but if that is what the main staff looks like, I'll still feel terribly underwhelmed.


To go from Jim Harbaugh and Vic Fangio to Jim Nobody from Nowhere and a guy who has been a DC for 2 seasons in the NFL and mediocre at best.....

nothing like Marvin being a total blind homer as usual...everything is unicorns and rainbows in Niner land with you. give it a rest. all i said was the thought has crossed my mind....never said i believed it.
