What else is new?

You guys said the same thing when they hired Nolan and Sing. Do you really believe this is a good hire? Its natural for the fans to react with anger. Dude didn't even get a single interview request for a HCing job from any team.

Nolan was not a bad hire. He had a talent depleted team and trying to save his job put a number one pick in before he was ready. Man no NFL head coach has ever done that. Sing became a coach in 2003 and we made him a HC in 2009. That was an overreaction and a bad hire. Tomsula has been coaching for 15 years. A little less then Marvin stated but much more then Sing.

I want to see the staff he place before I jump the gun. Really I wanted Kubiak but between Gase, Tomsula, and Fangio..... None set my toes a tapping. Gase would have been my choice just because I wanted an offensive mind but it didn't happen but I was not involved with any of the interviews so how can't I state that Tomsula doesn't have an idea on where this offence needs to improve or contacts that will join his staff and help him achieve our overall goal of winning number 6.

My point this is not the same as hiring Sing and Nolan. First due to experience and the second.... We are way more talented...

To 190836, I wasn't sold on Nolan or Sing either, so don't put words in my mouth. I'm not even sold with his hire. I just appreciate posters who post real thoughts, and not ZOMG f**kING BAALKE YORK SUCK DICK. That does nothing for me. I want real dialogue.

dwett, Nolan was a terrible hire. We did some nice scouting, but that was more the FO than him. Don't care who had the "final trigger", Nolan was not the guy grinding through college tape. Agree we really needed an offensive mind to take over this job. None of the external candidates were "slam-dunks", but we needed to take a chance on a guy like Gase.

I just don't understand this move to hire Tomsula, at all.

No owner makes moves like this but York.

I'm not going to lie and say this exact thought is not going through my head..i feel we have been duped and the last 4 years was nothing more than a ploy to get his stadium and now we are back to the real yorks.

Nothing like overreaction in the 'zone

nothing like Marvin being a total blind homer as usual...everything is unicorns and rainbows in Niner land with you. give it a rest. all i said was the thought has crossed my mind....never said i believed it.

Total unadulterated BS.

I've been sayin' I didn't want Gase for two days now. I said I didn't get it and didn't like the hire when it appeared it was going to happen. Keep up before you spout sparky.

lol. yup, right up until the point he was hired and then all of a sudden everything is once again unicorns and rainbows.

Because I like the hire better than Gase.

Jeez...I guess I'm not allowed to have an opinion unless its YOUR opinion. GTF outta here with that BS.

LOL. says the guy who chimed in with some snotty "classic overreaction by the zone" comment in response to me commenting on a thought that went through my head, not an actual opinion mind you. spare me.

Whats our OC options Trestman, Chud, Linehan, ??? I really hope it's not Trestman. All his offenses seem to fall apart in the end... Maybe if we get Linehan everything will get better...
Tarver has been with the Raiders for three seasons now, and in that time, his defensive units have shown the occasional flash now and then, but by and large, Oakland's defenses have been terrible. They rank at or near the bottom of most major statistical categories, have at times looked ill-prepared, overwhelmed and overmatched – such as their 52-0 beatdown at the hands of the ever fearsome Shaun Hill and the St. Louis Rams – and despite some momentary flashes, Oakland's defense has not improved one iota in Tarver's three seasons calling the shots.

0-16

I would have rather kept Harbaugh than Baalke since Jim was the best thing to happen to this organization since 1997. That said, I was reserved to him going because of the writing on the wall and the fact that I don't know what goes on behind the scenes. Because of that I was willing to take a chance on a smart coordinator that was a great offensive mind. How the f**k do we do this?
LOL Adam Gase had a light resume and even he has more NFL experience then Tomsula...

In your scenario we wouldn't have a QB either.

No, we would have evaluated him over the year...heck even the Seahawks didn't pay Wilson after last season.

Once again, not about my opinion, it's about accepting that people have opinions. Some people accept it, some don't, and some only like it when it's their opinions.

One thing is for sure, Baalke with this hire is on the clock. He better deliver next year.

This was hardly a Baalke decision. To me this screams Jed York, he's been the guy reportedly pumping up Tomsula in the front offices because Jim Nobody from Nowhere is such a nice guy.

For those unfamiliar with new #49ers coach Jim Tomsula, he's the kind of guy you can stop on a street and talk to for 20 minutes. Personable
You are correct about that, but Jed won't fire himself. Baalke would be the fall guy. This is a huge mistake IMO.

Exactly what they wanted in front of the cameras

Nice guys don't necessarily make good head coaches, any way those are the cards the FO has delt us, wonder how the players feel ?

Tomsula is NOT a nice guy. Players love him, but not because he's nice.

Tomsula has had what one? Maybe two? Head coaching interviews in his 7 years with the 49ers? None this year... And he was the best guy here? Maybe if he was a QB coach i would be a tad easier to understand. But DL coach? I just don't get it....

JED IS THE MASTER TROLL

HE GOT THE FANBASE TO HELP PAY FOR A STADIUM THAT HARBAUGH BUILT AND THEN TURNS AROUND AND FIRES HIM FOR TOMSULA. HO LEE FUK THIS IS INSANE.

which will make Kap A.Smith 2.0

Worth noting that DC Jason Tarver coached & taught LBs like Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman when he was an assistant in SF
