This is called a corporate layoff. To trim expenses becuase of the stadium cost...Bring in low end coaches, pay them peanuts for a couple of years and then clean house. Yes, this is Parag move..Wake up people..This isn't to improve the team..It's to cut costs. Parag looked at Adams Gase's agents salary demand and told Balke no...We have been tricked and duped as fans...The writing is on the wall.
Wait till you see all the free agents they will let go...

Sorry, but there is no excuse for this.

lol NFL austerity.

Well, if the stadium is empty and fans discombobulated nobody wins. Unless the team actually pulls together a deep playoff run under these conditions.

Not too pissed about the HC choice but losing Vic is a gut punch. I've not been paying attention to 49er news last couple weeks so I didn't see this coming.

Word is we're bringing the stadiums groundskeeper in as defensive coordinator. They guy in charge of the grass. Either that or the Raiders coach. About the same thing.

This would make sense if the 49ers didn't pull down an extra 100 mil or so in NEW money from the stadium. The team now has MORE money, not less.

Not my theory. I think Trent wants company men. Not about money.

What about Parag?
49ers coach Jim Tomsula is considering Colts assistant Rob Chudzinski and Charlie Weis for the team's offensive coordinator job.

Chudzinski is currently serving in a special assistant role with the Colts after being fired by the Browns as a first-year coach. His aggressive, vertical pass scheme could be a good fit for Colin Kaepernick. Weis was unemployed this past season and has had limited success since leaving the Patriots in 2004.

Man that is a lot of speculation there. I get it. You wanted Gase and have a right to vent in this forum as it was designed for. I just respect you as a contributor to this site and hope you don't turn into someone who hopes for a 5-11 season just to say... I was right...

Lived though that during the Alex years. Really thought some posters wanted us to lose just to say Alex sucks. Always want to be a fan who is hopeful and while this was not my choice, I still want to believe every opportunity was given to convince the ownership that Tomsula was there guy. If you want to say he seemed to have an advantage going in... I agree. To say that they went into it saying we are hiring him and will conduct multiple interview just to prove we are willing to have an open mind, seems like a stretch.

I could care less, had they picked someone else besides Gase that they interviewed, I would have been fine with. Tomsula just seems to reek of mediocrity, even worse, it fully breaks up the entire staff now. Fangio gone, Rathman likely gone, Solari gone, Donatell could very well be gone, all the assistant coaches that helped make this team successful are out the door it seems.

How do you know how any of those coaches would have reacted to Bowles, Gase, McDaniels, Quinn, or Ryan being hired. When Harbaugh left a staff break up was coming. I had hoped Fangio would stay but he was having second thoughts when Gase was basically signed.

Tomsula is not sexy but IMO does not reek of mediocrity. This in not Sing who was a coach with only 5 years experience none as a HC at any level who was simply a great player with a sexy name.

If we hire Tarver as DC. We WILL finish last in the west next year. I'm sad for players like Gore, Willis, and Smith who came so close to a superbowl and now will probably not get one. We needed a coach with experience, not one that will be learning on the job. We are a win now team.

We can't hire him as DC. LB coach, then fine.

Who is this guy from the Raiders, and why were we allowed to talk to him?

Raiders cleaning house too. Allowing their coaches to seek other jobs. Del Rio wants his own people.

And because he sucks as a DC.

Oh yeah, that too.

We can if Fangio leaves

This doesn't seem very well planned. I think we need real credentials for OC, though, right?
Per source: Tomsula is going to call his own plays on offense.

I like Tomsula but its sad if no coach remains. He seems like a likable guy but the other coaches might want out because he was managements first choice.

Ok maybe the DC part makes sense if Tomsula has schemes of his own to run.
So in the end, unless he was part of this sham, Baalke is the YES man!!!
