However, the biggest concern was the offense. How does this address that or help develop Kap? Even if we get a solid OC, he could be gone in as soon as a year. Also, this inherently increases the risk of the defense taking a step back since Vic is now leaving.

...and that's why I think the hire at OC and the entire offensive staff in particular is CRUCIAL.

It was a problem for the 49ers in the past, but look at the 4 HCs remaining right now. A defensive HC can succeed.

Tomsula has a very strong personality and is all class. I know he's not Singletary. Tomsula has the coaching pedigree, and he's not going to mentally crumble under the pressures of the job like Sing did.

Still, what can he do to improve the offense, or who can he hire to improve the offense? That is ultimately what will determine his success imo, because that is what's holding the team back.

it is. everything is crucial now.
what scheme are we going to be running on both sides of the ball is all we need to know.
we know he can get the max out of guys and they love him. we know these things to be fact.
now we need to know if he's smart enough to surround himself with people who are great at his weaknesses.
if he is we will be ok.
the talent on this team is such that it just needs a push in the right direction to be truly great.
the wheel won't fall off. this was the year the wheels should've fallen off. all the injuries the turmoil and the predictability and we still won 8 games and probably should've won 13.
