Easier said than done. So far, this all sounds like a calmer more charming version of Singletary.

Nothing official, but someone posted a link a few pages back that said Rathman and Solari are probably gone.

True...but will he blame the OC and fire him each year for several years? LOL! This hire just seems so much a young owner liking someone into a job, rather than making a football/business decision.

Kap is a project and one that not every OC will want to deal with. He may want a traditional drop back passer, Kap is not that right now...probably wont be one next year either.

you injected kap into a discussion to plant a seed that had no business being brought up in this thread.
gase wanted the job, they called him to tell him he wasn't going to get it.

Actually the QB is a giant part of the discussion. We all know we need somebody to help Kap. If the FO didn't feel like some of the candidates had a plan/idea on how to help him....that in itself would be a reason not to go with candidate X, Y, Z.

You have no idea what kind of QB Gase prefers. Kap would be on a very short leash with any new HC outside of the organization. By going the internal route Kap probably has a bit less pressure on him going into next year.

Who could a new coach possibly bring in that's better than Kaepernick? If anything Kaep has a skill set that's completely unique, can make ALL the throws, has shown he can get you to and win in the playoffs and is a hard worker that's coach able.
