York's statement: "After conducting a thorough coaching search, and meeting with a number of outstanding candidates, Jim Tomsula clearly is the right man to lead this team.

"Jim is a great teacher and a tremendous mentor who conducts himself with great class and integrity."

Baalke statement: "Our organization is excited to have Jim Tomsula leading this football team. We have had the privilege of working alongside Jim for the past eight seasons.

"He is a proven leader, teacher and mentor, and we look forward to seeing him apply his craft and vision to our team."

and we look forward to seeing him lead our team to 6-10 with class and integrity.....

You're such a drama queen.

Go ahead, be a good little faithful.....the Yorks love fans like you. No accountability required. Whooooo!!!

Stoney actually seems pretty middle-of-the-road over the years, or am I missing something?

no doubt, but for whatever he follows my posts and loves to comment on them even if 90 percent of the board is saying the same thing. Maybe he's just crushing?

Your post was at the top of the coaching search thread. That's why I commented on it. And if you haven't noticed, I sorta post here a lot.

And thank you for not denying your drama queen status. Because if there's one thing I've noticed about you is that you are 100% drama queen. Just like Oregon recognizes my posting style, it's quite easy to recognize yours.

#49ers front office will be assisting Tomsula with hiring his assistant coaches.

I didn't want to believe it, mostly because I like to see the better side in people and thought that this front office and ownership had turned a new leaf, but no, from everything that is being released, it seems Tomsula is as much of a puppet as some were expecting.

Or he simply values their input. He's known the SF FO for nearly a decade. It's not that surprising that they get along well and have similar outlooks.

Both are expected to be gone to Buffalo shortly. Its been reported that they were going to stick around with Fangio but not Tomsula.

No coach worth anything wants anyone but himself choosing who is on his staff. Maybe a few position coaches can stick around but OC & DC should be picked by the coach.

This. I've never heard of something like this even being reported before. It sounds like he's got Mommy and Daddy looking over his shoulder.

Of course. Baalke has more connections in the league than Tomsula does.

I couldn't agree more.

Like I said, 10 wins or more or this hiring was b******t.

The drama's in your head, my man. Most of the time I'm half joking, tongue in cheek. Your the one reading my post so serious. I come here to laugh, post and learn. I dont take myself too serious or half as much as you do. But if it makes you feel better to try and s**t on someone, s**t away. What do I care? Your just some stoner on the internet.

Nothing official, but let's be honest. The national media, as much as we hate them, has been on point about our team for well over a year. Where there is smoke, there is fire, and chances are very strong we're about to undergo a significant overhaul to the entire staff.

Yea which will be disappointing. Especially with a guy like rathman who I have a lot of respect for looking to go. (I think gore retires now) We didn't need a complete overhaul of the staff just a few adjustments on the offensive side.
Then again I don't get paid lots of money to make these decisions, so I'll wait and see. But this stinks of jed wanting someone he thinks he can control. Jerry style.

It's interesting that all the players that have talked about the move so far apart from boldin, are guys that either held out (Boone) , got moved (Lmt) or didn't care last year (vernon )
Gonna be interesting to see what veteran guys like gore willis say. Even the boldin statement doesn't endorse tomsula.

Yup. We don't know who's going where yet, but it's safe to assume most of the offensive staff should leave or get canned. I have respect for Rathman and wish he would stay. Looks like Fangio is leaving for sure, hopefully we at least retain a few defensive coaches like Donatell and Leavitt.

Leavitt already left with Harbaugh.

How the **** is getting the FO assistance = having his staff picked for him. The FO is assisting JT, not the other way around. That means JT is getting their input but ultimately making the hire.

HARBAUGH got assistance from the SF FO in 2011. That's why Rathman and Tomsula were retained. Did people say the FO babied JH and didn't trust him to hire those coaching positions?

Off the ledge, everybody. Sheesh.
Guys, I have to be honest. I am REALLY struggling with this and cannot even begin to understand the logic here from York and Baalke.

Reason I hate this hire and feel like we are doomed:

1. Hate the fact that we have a non-offensive head coach. Get ready for the OC carousel to spin and spin. All the while our offense and QB development gets thrown into turmoil every year. You have two scenarios: a. You hire a really good OC and they only stick around for 1-2 years and then get their own HC job (ex McCarthy). b. You hire a not so good OC and they are a disaster (ex Hostler, Raye).

2. Fangio is gone now. This guy worked absolute miracles with this defense and Bowman said he wanted him back so the players liked him. The new guy will have MASSIVE shoes to fill and now it sounds like Fangio might go to Arizona where he can torment twice a year especially because he knows all of our offensive personnel.

3. The NFL is a "big man's game" meaning that it requires size and a passion for "bludgeoning" as a player. Players love that mindset, they understand it. All of them were thrilled when Singletary got hired. The NFL, from a coaching standpoint, is a smart man's game. You have to be an innovator, strategist and be able to always stay ahead of the other teams and develop better game plans than them. I don't see how we have upgraded that capability at all with this move. For those that say "yeah but Tomsula can go get a good OC to do the thinking for him" just refer to item #1 above.

I am faithful to the core and could never love another team but boy oh boy is that being tested tonight...... please tell me it is going to be okay.

When is the last time you saw it reported that a head coach was getting "assistance" from the front office in picking his staff.

Its a given that every coach will work with the front office to some degree but that the decision is ultimately their own. That's never something that needs to be reported and that it is, makes me wonder to exactly what extent the front office's involvement amounts to.

I would have this same reaction regardless of who the candidate it was. The front office is "assisting".....not sure how that can be considered a good thing when it is publicly announced, that's the equivalent of saying the head coach will be held by the hand pretty much.

I am guessing the "help" is not hey Jim can you keep Ratham. Its hey Jim this will be who your offensive coordinator will be.
