The 49ers 2015 Coaching Search Thread(All Rumors and News Here)

Agreed, but don't you think coaches also change their approach and adapt to the new NFL? All i am saying is to give these guys an interview chance. I for one don't want to go back to the dark days of Nolan, sing and Erickson. Except for MS, none of these names inspire me. Kubiak would be an option.

Be honest, how much do you know about most of the guys that are being interviewed? I mean, really know? As fans we don't really have a clue as to who will be a good coach. I know for a fact that a lot of Steelers fans were pissed off when Tomlin was hired. He was "clearly unqualified".....looking back on it, how does that decision look now?

Same thing as jcool mentioned with John Harbaugh. Do you think Ravens fans were thrilled with their team hiring a special teams coach to be their head coach? Now he has won a Superbowl and looks to be on his way to a second, a very outstanding coach.

We all have our favorites and we all THINK we know what would be best for the team but in reality, we don't have a clue, we aren't interviewing with these guys, we aren't hearing how they propose to get this team back to the playoffs and to win a Superbowl, for most casual fans, the only thing they know is that Adam Gase is Manning's OC, I'd wager that most casual fans don't know that he worked for the 49ers previously, or Quinn or Pep Hamilton.

I think Gruden has made a very comfortable bed and he's never going to leave it... because he's smart.

I am still of the opinion that Kubiak would be the best hire out there, especially if he keeps Fangio.

word on the street is if fangio doesn't get the HC job, he's bolting.

He'd be a straight up fool to bolt from a team with this much talent over a perceived slight. We get an offensive upgrade over Harbaugh (Kubiak/Shanahan) and we are legit superbowl contenders. Why would he walk away from that chance?

He reupped with MNF he isnt a candidate.

Gruden is not going anywhere....ever. He's the Madden for the new era for all intents and purposes. He gets paid an absurd amount of money for less work and a lot less stress, I would take that any day.

Where is he going too? I mean he is already one of the highest paid coordinators in the league and has a top 5 defense...throw in there has been ZERO interest around the league to make him a HC (besides SF).

He said he's not interested in coaching and nobody really seems interested in hiring him.

Win/win.

I totally agree, and I remember saying the same thing when he took the gig

He wants the job but the Niners aren't interested. He said that on a Seattle radio show.

You're selling Vic short. This team had top 5 talent on defense before Vic got here and yet we never had a top 5 defense. Keep in mind that at no time this season was there top 5 talent on the field and yet Vic had this team sniffing top 5 with 2nd and 3rd stringers.

By that logic Roman should have been able to field a top 5 offense too since most around here think there's so much talent on that side of the ball as well. Niner fans are approaching green bay fan level homerism around here.

I just don't want Rex or one of those other crappy defensive coordinators that got exposed this weekend. I'd be interested in Mike Shanahan. Don't want Tomsula as HC. I think Fangio is probably the best decision at this point.
Redskins reach out to Scot McCloughan about top executive role

They got a lot of bars up there, I don't know............
