Nothing incorrect about that statement. Until the OL talent improves for pass blocking they don't have the personnel to run 3-4 wide on most downs.

Now, they need to changeup the playcalling order of what they have to prevent the predictability. They need Torrey doing more inside slants and VD doing more posts/inside routes. But those things won't make them have the personnel to run 5-7 step drops and a wide open passing game.

Tomsula on the safety, which was run out of the shotgun: "That's my fault. I knew that play went in. Wish I had it back."

This is weak.

What's more alarming is Geep actually thought this was a good play call.

Geep already gave up at that point. f**k it, might as well try something crazy, at least it won't cost 6pts.

Any smart HC would have veto'd that playcall. Hell...base on the formation, we all knew what the play was and would have veto'd. What was Tomsula thinking that he did not automatically veto that play call? I just don't get it.

Another play I questioned was the 4th and 1 play at the AZ 40yard line....and they decide to punt? WTF??!?! They were already down 21-0, field position is out the door at that point knowing their offense was going to roll your D anyway. I didn't get that call either.

if teams didn't have incentive to jump on us an blow us out early...they have more now. You have the head coach saying that if we're down 14-20 ptss, we're not built to come back.

You say that as if it's a secret that other teams couldn't figure out unless JT revealed it. It's not a secret what their personnel is built for, LOL. He's not saying they can't put in a play here or there as a changeup. He's saying that their base personnel isn't built that way, and he's correct. And it's no secret. It's been a truth about the offensive personnel on the team for years now.

our QB has shown he can drop back and win us games with his arm...or come back from games with his arm.

imo, it has more to do with our Oline...and our coaches not wanting to have more receivers out there...for whatever reason.

sure the media says it...some posters say it... but I've never believed it.

I think we all know this. Lots of teams are not built to come back. The seahawks are technically not built to come back form a blow out as they are a running team. All this means is we are a running team. Everyone knows this. Pretty s**tty that if you stop the run we are pretty much f**ked, but it is pretty obvious.

Play shotgun....and pass to set-up the run. Every team is gonna want Kaep to beat them now with his arm. EVERY TEAM! He's gonna have to prove it. Will he be able to beat the Packers on his own without that top 5 defense? Probably not.

After the last 2 weeks it seems to be we are built to be a "drop the soap" team.

I dont think we're built to come back from a TD deficit.

When teams know we are going to pass they can just pin their ears back and get after kap, our oline is terrible and puts them in a horrible position. It makes an obvious weakness worse and doesnt allow us to play to our strengths.

Go back and read over this thread. Some of that stuff might still come true.

Yep. They know their OL is not built for pass protection. They need the TEs for blocking help, they need the Pistol/Shotgun to give that half second extra time for the QB to read the field since he's getting immediate pressure. They don't have the personnel up front to play a heavy 3-5-7 step drop pass offense.

Why is this a surprising statement to anyone here? We've been talking about this for months. Not only was the OL personnel in the previous couple years not built for a lot of 3-5-7 step drops (remember how we all saw the problems last year with Kap under center and complained about HaRoman forcing the personnel to do a scheme not to their strengths), but we know the OL personnel got worse than last year once Kilgore/Davis were out of the picture.
