So we go from praising him against the Vikings, to two weeks later, placing the blame on his shoulders?

You guys do realize we were playing a super bowl contender, on the road, and we spotted the 14 points on our first two possessions? How well did you expect the game to go after that?

He is a rookie HC. How about we give him some time before we castrate him after going through the toughest two game road stand of any NFL team.

Well it would be nice if he wouldn't say things (paraphrasing) that he likes the TE-centric offense...or that down 21 they punted on 4th-2, 3rd-20 they throw a 2-yd pass, for all intents and purposes just giving up in the 2nd half. At least they still competed in Pittsburgh, but that was embarrassing and humiliating the way they gave up yesterday. No they weren't going to win, but at least show some heart and fight. If the concern was just trying to limit more mistakes, then gtfo of the business of football.

I'm not a "fire him now" type of fan...even though I think it was a mistake "mutually parting" with Harbaugh, I like Tomsula and am rooting for him. But that was a BAD look yesterday, dude looked bewildered...and it's one thing to get your a** kicked, but to just lay down makes it that much worse. But call me crazy, as opposed to these last two games, I actually think he'll have this team ready to compete vs GB.

Oh wow. We are dead before we even begin.

He didn't say this.

Yes, my first choice for HC was Adam Gase, but he wasn't coming here. Blame whoever you want but that deal is done. Jim Tomsula is the head coach and we are all bitterly disappointed with the results of the past two weeks, but let's try too look a bit deeper at why this team is losing.

Tomsula did not let Mike Iupati walk. That was the result of HarBaalke deciding that Colin Kaepernick, a 2nd level college QB, was the future and that left no money for Iupati. Tomsula did not force Anthony Davis to take a year off. Injuries did that. Also, Tomsula did not cause Daniel Kilgore's recovery to more time than expected. Put those three pieces back in the OL and we have a very different situation. Instead we have a makeshift OL made up of two castoffs and a near rookie trying to block against two of the best defenses in the league. Not Jim Tomsula's fault.

Also, Jim Tomsula did not stomp on Patrick Willis' feet and force him to retire. Nor did he send Aldon Smith out on another drinking binge, nor did he tear some pages off Justin Smith's calendar. He didn't even smack Chris Borland upside the head causing a concussion. Other useful restoration projects like Chris Culliver and Perish Cox were told to look elsewhere. Jim Tomsula did not do any of that.

Jim Tomsula did not do any of those things that have individually and collectively decimated this football team. Jim Harbaugh used up the inventory of quality players on this team trying to win a championship with his college offense. He failed and acted like a 7th grader in the process, wearing out his welcome as he had done in prior stopovers. Now, due to injuries and retirement, the inventory has been depleted to the point the team is looking woeful.

None of this is the fault of the current head coach. The truth is, there is not much Tomsula, or any other HC that one might think of, can do to change the lack of quality talent on this team. All that is the result of what I noted above. All of it.

Now add in the fact that Pittsburgh (with a healthy Ben) is one of the top two teams in the AFC and Arizona will compete with Green Bay for top dog in the NFC. Our favorite team, with all this depletion of talent, has played, and been thumped by two of the very best teams in the league and some folks are blaming the head coach. Not realistic. Not realistic at all.

Who gets credit for the game plans?

exactly. we lost to two of the teams that are easily both top 5 in the league, with both games unfortunately being on the road. it's only week 3. new staff and young new players figuring out what works and what doesnt.

After the vikings game, I posted that Jim Tomsula was 2 - 0, outscoring opponents 58 - 10.

Wow, what a change. Now 2 - 2, and scoring 83 - 100. What a f'n change in 2 weeks.

Who gets credit for the game plans?

The one big flaw in yesterday's game plan was starting off trying to cover Larry Fitzgerald out of the slot with a linebacker. That is on Mangini.
Whatever our problems are, OL, QB, OC, DC, DL , DBs....we also stepped into it with games against Rottenburger and Bruce Arians. No matter how bad we were, it was magnified by the two buzz saws in the last two games. The downside....yup, here comes Aaron Rodgers. Yikes. Tomsula does have to get the 9ers organized, as they are not at present. Harbaw...that was the one good thing he did....but now, jeez, talent, plus coaches....big job. Maybe Coach T isn't as glad he got this job after all.

Yeah, I saw that on the highlights a few times. What's the concept there? Seemed like a blown assignment, not by design.

OK, read the whole thing. I'm still not convinced it won't turn out the same.

Sorry, but this is just a little too convenient. Other coaches make due. There is ZERO excuse for how unprepared we have been the last two games. That's coaching. Dallas is playing without their top WR (who is also tops in the league) and number one QB, another top tier. Did you watch the way the defense has run around the last two weeks looking lost? Yes, we lost a ton in the offseason, but all I heard about was how DEEP our team was; let's look at the guys who are here....blah blah blah. They have had an offseason and a preseason and if the last two weeks are what that translates to then I'm sorry but you cannot ignore the HC. That is just ridiculous.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm envious of their owner.

That is two bad game plans in a row for Mangini and the simplified offense plan was not so good either.
