Even when the pass rush wasn't going at times last year, you didn't have these same gaps in the defense that I saw on Sunday. If you're going to spot drop, having the pass rush be able to get to the QB becomes even more vital in importance. The end result is that you get defensive backs guarding a piece of grass while you have a LB chasing a WR down the field.

The deep post, you know that play we use to destroy other teams with

MIDDLE OF THE EFFING FIELD

Put your qb and team in a position to succeed not fail.

I'd like to see it to, but they'll need to move the pocket to get the pass pro time to do it.

Yeah. It's the lack of a CLIPBOARD that's a problem.

I didn't say that. Instead of him staring blankly into space while they show him on camera, he can at least be staring blankly into a clipboard so it looks like he's doing something.

Seifert stared blankly all the time. You're simply applying a biased interpretation based on the results. With Seifert he was being "observant and intense" because his teams won. With Tomsula in the bad losses he was "spacing out". Or, it could just mean that's how he looks when he's focused on the field. Have you ever looked at someone concentrating on something? They look like idiots the majority of the time.

The personnel we had. We don't have a lot of those guys and we don't know if a lot of these guys will be any good. You can make a guess but so far the CB's and the whole secondary have been bad.

No reason to think otherwise. Its not like they were bringing in world-beaters to play CB previously. Brock looked very good in that scheme, Cox was a guy who was cut by both the 49ers and Seattle in the same year and came back to make plays. Rogers was basically a rehab project. Culliver was a good prospect but could never play the ball in the air.

I have no trouble believing that guys like Acker and Johnson would look better in that sort of scheme, even if it s a bit more compex both of them got educated on it last year and Mangini just flushed it down the toilet.

Well put!
Gotta make some roster changes coach. Can't jus sit back and hope it works out. Pears, Devey, TJE should not be getting significant playing time.

Mike Singleterrey stared blankly all the time too. So what. We're talking about tomsula here. Serifert was a great defensive coordinating mind who we already knew was qualified to manage a team. Tomsula, not so much.

I'm talking tongue in cheek here also if you haven't noticed. You're taking my posts too literally.
I was fine with tomsula as HC as long as he was able to put together a good staff. It was apparent soon after that wouldn't be the case. As soon as Chud stayed in Indy I knew we were doomed. And when Chryst, mangini and Logan's names were called it sealed our fate

I agree we can't go on losing by 40, but I also agree things need to play out more. Also, please tell him to stop analyzing game plan at pressers. Nobody wins there but our opponents next week.

His SECOND season.

After going 2-14 his first season.

BW would have never survived those two seasons going 8-24 in today's NFL.

Perhaps not. I hope our team is able to rebound and get better sooner rather than later.

Yes, things do need to be played out. However, Bill Walsh had coordinating and head coaching experience. To me, this seems like another Singletary situation. Players loved him, wanted to play for him, but he lacked the coaching staff and experience to put it all together.

I don't think players loved Singletary as much as you think. A lot of them threw a party when he was fired.
Just can't believe Tomsula is even being mentioned in the same breath as Bill Walsh on any level an in any way shape or form under any circumstance.

I want to throw up in my mouth. We are talking about a man who worked under Sid Gillman, Paul Brown, Marve Levy, Al Davis. He invented offensive concepts , built programs , single handily changed offenses as we know it today. This man could survive anything an organization throws at him in today's game or of yesteryear. Leave him out of the conversation. By the way, in Walshes bad seasons they were very competitive , especially in his second year. His philosophy is unchallengeable

Now he's talking in the third person.

And Bill inherited a team with zero talent on it. We aren't what we were two years ago, but the talent isn't as lacking as what we have seen on the field.
