Probably because they've been showing progress and steady improvement.
This is Jacksonville that we're talking about, they have no record of sustained success, expectations aren't that great and to be fair when Bradley got there the roster was beyond burning dumpster fire status.

If they fire Tomsula, they won't have a choice but to pay big to attract any decent coach......call it Jed's stupidity tax.

Thanks, Kolohe, you will be the only one who noticed. Usually you have to stumble thru my dissertations, and rarely, only rarely may it be worth your time. i think it means the sign of somebody with a jumbled mind....

Yeah, Phoenix, but he owes us after his last 12 yrs or whatever. Signing the big nothing for $3,5 for 4 yrs? now THAT was stupid. And that should be Jed's penalty. Remember he still has mom and dad to prove he can do this. So far he is O-fer.

This is the Jedbot attack line: It's all Kaepernick's fault. And yet Jed/Baalke put the team together, no?
Tim Kawakami added,
Michael @Michael49er@timkawakami so at any point do the players get the blame or are certain ones like Kaepernick excused from this horrific season?

All Kaepernick's fault?
Kaepernick is 2-6 as a starter this year. Blaine Gabbert is 2-5.
How you can blame Kaepernick is beyond me. Not saying he's elite or anything, but he's a symptom of the bigger problem, here.

I think the opposite
Jed is trying to hold on to him - but his parents and Ballke are raising hell to relieve him - and parag ain't around to leak

This.
We know we won't make the playoffs under Tomsula. We're just extending our struggles if/when he's back

If Baalke stays, then nothing will change. The team will remain mediocre to below mediocre. Baalke is 10-21 as GM without Jim Harbaugh and Baalke has had 6 Drafts 2010-2015 to work wit so no excuses for Baalke's sorry ass output of a roster.

Oh man if he's back for another year, I am cancelling my Sunday Ticket the same week and will continue to laugh comedy from September thru Early January. If that clown Jed has any cahones, he'll dump him and Baalke.

Ask yourself this, who would want to take a job coaching for a guy who just fired one of the top coaching staffs in the NFL? Really, who would want to work for him? Baalkie has just shown the world that he is as unreasonable as Jim Harbaugh, or worse. No top tier candidate will look at the team seriously, we will get the bottom of the barrel to build Tomsulas staff, he is in a can't win scenario.
We might possibly get a decent OC, and DC if any are left, if we over pay them, but since Tomsula took 3.5 mil, what are we going to do, pay the coordinators the same, or more? Balky screwed this thing up badly. Perhaps Im wrong, perhaps a top shelf grade A bonafide group of coaches are coming our way, but I get a feeling we will be getting the scraps after everyone else is hired. f**k you Trent Baalkie, you have the strategic mind of a child.
Couldn't have said it better! Enjoy your take on the subject and agree Balke and Jed are two pees of a pod!

As I've said a few times, if it's Baalke vs. Anybody in 49ers political knife fights, I always presume Baalke will survive.
