Harbaugh gave us BS and got everybody excited.
And apparently you think that BS was a positive.

Judging by his record I think the players mighta, one play from a Super Bowl win too.
Was time to go but that's a mighty fine record he leaves, no-one can argue with that.

BS takes some intelligence. "Pack your shoes!" is almost as bad as "Physical with a F!"

some coaches we have had do well at press conference, make funny little quips and do a nice job of drawing attention to themselves. that is something i do not miss
If the press conferences were the best indicator of future success, then Mike Nolan should be a 3x SB winner by now. He owned the press conferences. I don't miss that style either, and I've since learned not to put much stock in meaningless things like press conferences..
Eh.. Nolan can speak well.. I remember him saying a lot of pointless stats like " we limited them in the 2nd half to 92 total yards of offense after getting down 24-3"
Lmao I remember that. "It's important to remember Alex is 7-4 in his last 11 healthy starts."

I dont need Tomsula to be confortable in press conference.
But on the field during gameday
I dont need tomsula to make the correct answers in press conference.
But to have a game plan ready for sunday and adjusting it during the game if necessary.
I dont need Tomsula winning the press conference.
But winning football games.
See ya in september !

read the presser. didn't bother me too much. I think he's got a good orientation. yes interesting ways of thinking about things. & I think it's a good way of looking at stuff. I would like him to say a little bit more about football. I do think it's a little unsettling that the staff has not been assembled and so many of the old staff have left. that is more concerning to me then Jim tomsulas personality. obviously Fangio didn't expect this decision by Balki and York. I bet it's all about money. Its a money thing for management now. staff on a shoestring.

Awkward or not in a press conference it's embarrassing to have to have the front office sit there an hold your hand. Jesus man up an take the lumps. This guy is trying to earn respect as a head coach. Guess who else has to sit up in front of media every darn week. 21 year old players! Guys who never graduated college. Guys who barely made it out of highschool! He has Baalke an Jed up there and it looks like 2 parents walking there little boy to school. Give me someone who isn't afraid, someone with balls. That was embarrassing. I just hope he doesn't need that much help coaching

I'm happy he wasn't articulate. Singletary commanded the room when he spoke. This just tells me Tomsula would rather get into the nitty gritty of the skill of playing football. He can't really get into that with the media.

Agree.
agree. i think the new coach relates better to the players than to the media and that is just fine. he is also a guy , unlike other coaches we have had, who do not have to command a room and put the spotlight on himself all the time.. that is a nice change. people are just so afraid of change around here

Best Tomsula Quotes from Presser:
- I was the youngest guy in the D-Line room and I didn't know I was on probation until training camp was over
- As we go through here with the San Francisco 49ers and we talk about the organization that these men have built and ladies have built, what a village. I'm that guy that's into the village. I believe it takes a village.
- Joan in payroll. She's not only in payroll, Joan's my financial advisor. Joan's making sure I've got enough money in my 401K. You go on and on and on. Vilma at the front desk. You've got all of these wonderful people in the building. The boys downstairs making that great Mexican feast at Christmas.
- But when you find somebody you love, hold on to them and don't let them go.
- The magic tricks and all the fluff and stuff in life and all those things, football and anything you're doing, outwork 'em
- When I put it all together, he can do a lot of things with his feet. He can do lot of things with his hands. He can do a lot of things with his arms. He can do a lot of things with his eyes.
- Whether it was a team negotiating a deal, whether it was a team playing a sport, whether it was a group jazzercise class or yoga class, there's always been that one where you've gone somewhere and you've walked out and said, 'That was cool.'
- Think big in small ways. I know it sounds petty, but it's the way you handle a meeting, or on the road in the hotel, everybody, 'Hey, pick up your stuff.' I know that sounds really small, but it starts adding up. To me, it's big picture stuff in real small ways. Pack your own bag for the game. Don't forget your shoes.
- Now, winning with class, one statement that comes to mind for me is the difference between confidence and arrogance is ignorance.
- Thirty one. [31 years of coaching and he is 46, so JT has coached since he was 15].
- That was just terribly uncomfortable, obviously. It was terribly uncomfortable. I wish whoever wrote it wouldn't have wrote it or whoever said it wouldn't have said it. I can't sit up here and tell you. What am I going to do about it? There's nothing I can do about it."
- I didn't teach John Elway how to throw a football or Joe Montana or Steve Young, but just the mechanics of it and understanding it, I've had my hands on all that.

People are going too much off of the way he sounded rather than the things he said. These things that he said are freaking awesome.

I agree and was thoroughly impressed myself. As I said earlier I think people are taking his weird character as him being stupid. He's kind of an odd guy and would often ramble on about God knows what, but he had a lot of great points and views. He's just mistaken at the moment, and I think once people learn that, he will be respected a lot more.
