The only team to give up more sacks than the #49ers this year? The Chris Forester-coached Washington Redskins, now the OL coach in SF.

the seahawks are gonna murder the 49ers.....

We just hit the rewind button on a old VHS tape & the outcome looks very sh*tty

Is their line as talented as ours? NO.
were they able to run the ball with alfred morris? YES
we have to wait and see the final pieces before we just go "oh the redskins gave up x amount of sacks"
yea who were their quarterbacks.. mccoy cousins and rg3
that doesn't really tell me anything about his coaching job with the line.

Sounds like the carlos rogers arguement

and what did rogers do for us before he lost it altogether?
exactly

You guys think this is a joke? We blew up a top-3 or top-5 coaching staff in the league, to hire back everyone from the years when we were the worst team in the league. I'm so dumbfounded that I don't know what to say. I hope this team loses every game (it kills me to say this) so that Jed can finally get the point that he shouldn't be running this team.

Stop it. The offensive coaching staff was NOT great. so far with defense we've made solid moves but the talent has a lot to do with it. We can go back to when Jim was hired and see how many people hated the idea of Vic Fangio being the coordinator citing his NUMEROUS FAILED STINTS in the same position.

We fired the best LBs coach in football. What did he do to get fired? Maybe the best coaching job in all of sports. How much better could he have been?

Kyle Shanahan is coming...

we have to wait and see. the problem with this line is the same and was the same before and during jimh. good at run blocking bad at pass blocking.
let's not act like we're going from a line that was wonderful at both and just firing people left and right for the sake of doing it.
its crazy how immediately nostalgic we are about what we just got through complaining about every single week on offense.

defensively we have the right to complain if things don't go right or if things don't make sense coaching wise but we have to wait and see until the pieces fall into place.
Could be wrong but I thought they had a lot of injuries the last couple years too on the OL in Washington.

Come on, Rollin. You're not really going to argue that offensive line talent around 2006-7 was as good as it is today, are you? Yes, Kwame Harris was a high draft pick. So what? He was a bad player in the NFL. And for that matter, even Larry Allen was a shell of his former self. He's the one who helpfully stepped aside and allowed a Seahawk D lineman to smash Alex Smith's throwing shoulder into mush.

But is the coaching not responsible for any of that?

FWIW, Foerster wasn't fired by the 49ers after 2009.

Shanahan wanted him and Foerster asked to be released from his contract to be closer to his family, and Singletary allowed it.

Look at my name. I've been rolling with with they do... and what's that gotten us? I don't like to think of us as not having any control. If fans speak out, stop going to games, stop buying merchendise, protest, etc., at some point the owner's hands are tied and they have to find someone who can help. This team needs a competent adult to run this team. In WA fans buy box tickets regardless of record. Team value goes up and the worst owner in sports has no incentive to win. Just to keep doing what he's doing. I don't want to be WA

i consider myself a pretty loyal fan with that being said i live in nj and often travel to see the niners play. I have to be honest i cant see it happening this year except maybe against the giants, until they prove they can be competitive with tomsula i probably wont make it back to cali any time soon. Ill still watch them on tv but i see attendance dropping significantly this year. Jed york got his stadium he could care less about the fans and hes proven it already.

I tried my hardest to stay positive through this whole post Jim Harbaugh coach hiring process. But with each passing news report it's becoming more and more of a struggle to do so. We replace Solari with the guy that was fired for Solari in the first place? We bring back a guy who was a coach for us in the past when we we're really bad. We bring back the QB coach who failed to develop Kap into a pocket passer and was the architect of our attrocious red zone offense? Why the f**k are we bringing in assistants before we even hire an offensive coordinator? How exactly are we going to attract top coaching talent when the OC can't even pick his own staff? We got rid of our best coaches in donatell and leavitt and replaced our online coach with an even worse one. It's pretty clear at this point that tomsula does not have a network of top talent coaches to draw on and we are just cycling through retreads.

This whole thing reeks of a huge dumpster fire and all the FO has done is throw more trash on top of it. Seriously its surreal how horribly this has all played out.

Couldnt. agree. more.

I don't think either of us is being an irrational screaming fan either. This is objectively idiotic. Like watching the Raiders moves over the last decade plus. You watched in astonishment and it turned out exactly how you expected. That's what I'm seeing here...

I'm not saying it isn't. I'm just saying that the talent on the o-line here is better than it was when he was here last - quite a bit better IMO.
Looks like we are hiring a bunch of retreads! Not even good retreads, but retreads from the dark ages of Nolan and Singletary. Wow! I bet our OC will be Jimmy Raye! OMG this is turning into a nightmare!
So Baalork's Plan is to restore the brilliant line of assistant coaches this team had when they sucked. What the hell did we do to deserve this?

If they all forget how to play football we can revisit this post. If we can hire someone who will get them into the right positions then we'll be fine. the talent isn't bare.
