Even without Bowman 100%. We have Willis, and Borland
That's what we said last season

Saying the Niners "have no money" is silly. Letting Brooks, Boone and Dahl go, for example, gets them over $12 mil to work on.

I wouldn't blame Mangini for Davis' season last year. I'm guessing injuries had something to do with his production, but if he's not on board, there's another $7 mil to work with.

I wouldn't be so sure Gore is gone. It depends on the market. I would think the Niners could work something out with him at a discount.

"That's what we said last season." Right, and the defense ended up #5. It will definitely get more talent back from injury this year.

And if things do implode, will you still believe that the ownership holds no fault and that it was all on that rabble rousing former HC?

i will step up and say i was wrong just like i have done many times before,, i will assume you will take no pleasure in being right if the whole thing goes south. you are not like one of those people who really are around who act like they want the team to fail in order to justify their hatred for the front office for getting rid of what they think is a beloved figure

Exactly who are these people you speak of? I doubt anyone who takes the time to come to this forum is rooting for failure.
hahahahah. they have been there since we became relevant again,, the names change but they will always be the same people

"You have to feel for Jim Tomsula right now. He takes over for a man who led the 49ers to three straight NFC Championship Games, and is expected by management to lead this team back over the 8-8 hump. San Francisco might be lucky to go 8-8 this year. Aging wide receivers (ifMichael Crabtree is gone), possibly no Frank Gore, possibly no Vernon Davis, no Justin Smith, and the hope that NaVorro Bowman can return to 2013 form. Oh, and then there's the unreliable Aldon Smith. Step into a slim win column, Jim."

Pretty negative stuff from Elliott Harrison

that's pretty negative from Elliot.

Gore will most likely be back.

VD? fine we shall see whats up with him.

Justin is a maybe.

Aldon? We still have Brooks, Lynch, Lemonier. And will prob bring back Skuta.

Crabtree is a bum anyway.

Even without Bowman 100%. We have Willis, and Borland

IMO, that had a lot more to do with the back injury than his coach.

Yeah, I think VD hurt his back in the Bears game. He ran like a guy with a sore back.

However, my personal assumption (backed by unsubstantiated rumor "SIRUS NFL") is Gase was the guy until he royally cocked it up in his interview. Tomsula was plan B (along with the hand picked staff). Gase blew it and the 49ers went with their pre-installed backup plan with built in vetting options.

The reason I believe this is Baalke strikes me as a guy that has contingency plans for contingency plans, and he communicates them on a "need to know" basis.

But this is conjecture... the complete definition of conjecture!

contingency plans?? you really think so after all the coaches the 49ers just hired

A) Didn't say they were good

B) Please re-read or maybe READ what's in bold

This off season is the least excited I've been in a long time, mostly because of the coaches that were hired.

Doesn't matter. These are the same guys who expected us to "Suck for Luck" in 2011. We went 13-3 that year.

Tomsula and his staff is a complete unknown, but this is still a highly talented roster. If the coaches are competent, that's good enough for 10 wins. We only dipped under 10 this year because of injuries and turmoil between coach and FO. That won't happen again.

We win 10 games minimum this year, too much talent not too.

Getting back to being a dark horse candidate may well do the Niners some good.

or inside his own head,, hope he gets back on track this year,, it is more than a hope,, it is a must in my opinion
I think all this talk of besting 8-8 is BS. If we replaced our HC, then the new guy better come up with something better than old guy's best performance. If Tomsula does barely better than 8-8, do any of us consider that a win? Anything less than a Super Bowl and FO should publicly admit that they screwed up big time.

This will look nice on the shelf.

Team named after the Gold Rush on the Golden Anniversary of the Super Bowl.

...then again I had similar sentiments in regards to SB 49...
