Right. All you can really discern from any of that is that Logan thinks Aaron Rodgers is a prototype and who can argue with that? Rodgers is accurate, makes good decisions and is mobile. If Kaepernick can become more like Rodgers, we're all in for some good times.

I totally understand being skeptical and even slanting towards the negative b/c of how the "process" went. I get that. Truly. I get that right now, there are a lot of unknowns on this coaching staff and there is a lot of separation anxiety with many fans b/c the names they DID know, are now gone (HaRoman, Fangio, Donatell, etc.). And the names they did know, we didn't go after or closed the deal (or opted out). Harbaugh grabbed a couple low-level guys, two others went to the Bears, another to the Bills, most back to college, etc. Really, at the end of the day, only Fangio got his man in Donatell for a legit NFL job. Even Roman is nothing more than a running coordinator. Harbaugh is back in college where he belongs IMHO.

Now, we turn the page and when you really start to break these coaches down, a theme that Eric Davis alluded to starts to stand out..."experienced teachers." We heard the presser re: class and teachers. So far, the only guy with class-like conditions may be our DC and as a DC, I sort of want that "edge." The FO personnel and coaches you see below are all very experienced and have either worked their way up to HC and or held a Coordinator position. Now look at the guys below them. Many of the position coaches seem to be very experienced...experienced enough to move up the in-house corporate ladder as well..just like Tomsula, Mangini and Chryst did. We've seen that SAME model with our player personnel. And I still don't think the hiring process is over yet either.

The guys we have questions about all have experience in the roles they are in now. Tomsula as a HC in NFL Europe. Both Mangini and Chryst in DC and OC stints. But what I like best about these three is that coaches grow and develop and evolve over time, just like players do. How many times have you seen a player go from our team and then shine somewhere else (Lockette, Ginn, Cooper, etc.). The flip side has been the same (Whitner, Bethea, Dorsey, etc.). Sometimes that second g-round, to the right place, after additional time to grow and develop, is EXACTLY what a player OR coach needs. And with these three, all of them have been here for 2+ years and they know this personnel better than anyone. Like Logan said, collectively, they get to jump over the communication platform and head straight to the car wash to let this Corvette go.

I'm ready to give these guys a chance...round 2...they're ready and they have something to prove. And I like that!

Front Office:
Tom Gamble - Personnel Executive
Jim Tomsula for Jim Harbaugh - Head Coach
Bill Nayes - Tomsula's b***h

Defense:
Eric Mangini for Vic Fangio - Defensive Coordinator
Jason Tarver for Jim Leavitt (Released) - Linebackers Coach/Sr. Defensive Assistant
Clancy Pendegrast - Inside Linebackers Coach
Ejiro Evero for Greg Jackson (Michigan) - Assistant Secondary Coach/Defensive Assistant (Retained)
Aubrayo Franklin - Defensive Assistant/Entry Level
Tim Lewis for Ed Donatell (Bears) - Secondary Coach
Scott Brown for Jim Tomsula (Promoted to HC) - Defensive Line Coach

Offense:
Geep Chryst for Greg Roman (Bills) - Offensive Coordinator
Steve Logan for Geep Chryst (Promoted to OC) - Quarterbacks Coach
Mick Lombardi - Offensive Assistant (Retained)
Tom Rathman - Running Backs Coach (Retained)
Chris Foerster for Mike Solari (Released) - Offensive Line Coach
Eric Wolford - Offensive Line Assistant
Tony Sparano for Eric Mangini (Promoted to DC) - Tight Ends Coach
Ronald Curry for John Morton (Michigan) - Wide Receivers Coach/Offensive Assistant

Special Teams:
Thomas McGaughey for Brad Seely (Released) - Special Teams Coordinator

Not sure Curry has been reported yet...could be WR coach or assistant to WR coach. Might be another hire coming there.

I have to disagree with Logan, he was out of football for 3 yrs, and was last a RBs coach. Chryst did crap for Kap as QB coach, I don't see him doing great things, maybe good things. Mangini had one of the worst Defenses as DC. Forester was a terrible OL coach for us when he was last here.

The only coaches I'm ok with are Lewis and Pendgrast. The rest are failed OC, DC, and HCs. Chryst and Mangini were bottom of the barrel guys IMO. There were no one else out there that would take the job, they got turned down by numerous guys.

I fear we are on track for sub 500 seasons for the next 10 years, until Jed realizes he isn't cut out for being an Owner or CEO, he surely isn't Robert Kraftm at least he would never fire Belchick like Jed fired Harbs. He held a grudge, and let that ruin a great thing we had with Harbs. No way would Paul Allen fire Carroll, as much of an ass he is, Carroll is a damn good HC.

Also I believe Chyst was in charge of redzone offense if I remember correctly reading that.

I don't like seeing you this way, man. I know you've been down on the team's moves for a while, so I'll try to hit your points and see if you can see something positive:

Logan has a better history than Harbaugh of developing QBs, if you figure that he helped develop Matt Ryan (Ryan's best college season), he developed Jeff Blake and David Garrard for the NFL at ECU, and he got pretty significant improvement out of at least two NFLE QBs. His explanation of how to beat Seattle's defense was proven correct by the Pats, and HaRoman never even tried it.

Mangini was only a DC for one year, and NE had 3 more guys on IR that year than we did this year, even after Ty Law retired (most of them on defense), and the DB turnover was insane (10 guys started at DB, IIRC). The job he did didn't light up the stat sheet, but it minimized damage done by a huge decrease in talent, and allowed the Pats to continue winning games. His failings as a HC illustrated leadership deficiencies, which is why he's not a HC anymore. Even the players in NY and CLE who hated his guts say he's the smartest football guy they've ever spoken with.

I see the position coaches with coordinator and HC experience as a great thing. While they might not have been great HCs, you rarely get a shot as a HC unless you're a badass coordinator and/or position coach. The fact that most of these guys were so successful at what we are asking them to do now that they got a chance at HC says thay should still be great position coaches.

Foerster stunk because Nolan and SIngletary are idiots on offense. They took a ZBS guy and made him run and coach up a power scheme on the line. That's like being mad when a WR sucks at pass blocking.

Chryst was not the first choice, for sure, but the red zone coordinator stuff is overblown Cohn Crap. HaRoman called the plays, with other coaches researching specific situations and drawing up plays for them. Geep drew up a lot of RZ plays, which encourages me actually. We had a lot of creative, deceptive plays in the RZ that got guys open in limited space. Unfortunately, we rarely saw any of these plays used more than once (that's on the play caller, not the play designer). Because Harbaugh was the go-between on playcalls, it's impossible to discern which calls were on Harbaugh and which ones were on Roman, but that doesn't matter: those guys are gone. There really isn't much reason for ex-49ers to support Tomsula and Chryst, but they have, which should be encouraging. Guys like Boldin are way too good of football players to worry about any repercussions from speaking freely, and they also sound excited to be back (big difference from VD holding ou last year to mentioning how much he loves Tomsula and that he will be at the first offseason practice).

I think we are well over .500 this year, as the talent should be much better, the drama is gone, and Tomsula is all about letting players do what they do best (we've been screaming for this change for years).

AB is the man. We need to show him the way...great post WRATH!

True. He's also being courted by college as well?

The guy turned Jeff Blake and Dave Gerrard into players in college with limited physical attributes and was the OC for Matt Ryan at BC. I'm not saying the guy is a slam dunk by any stretch, but he HAS shown some success in the past and Tomsula likes him...so lets just see what happens.

I do like him on the radio tho. We'll see if it translates.
So when are they going to announce all of these hires. Makes me wonder what the hell is going on.

So far I like several of the hires that have been reported but I don't see any reason not to announce the coaches that they have signed.
