LSU has confirmed that WRs coach Adam Henry has accepted the same position with the 49ers http://FootballScoop.com/the-scoop

Henry's recent offer to join the 49ers in detail. He was approached by Texas, A&M, Florida and the Niners this year. Good coach.

At the time we recorded the show, Henry was considering staying. Big loss for LSU; but they aren't sitting idly. Are already working on it

I wonder what this means for R.Curry?

It was reported Tomsula wanted two WR coaches.

More than a few of his wr's came into the NFL ready to make a big impact. I'm glad we have 2 of them and I hope they develop our guys and give them the tools to be great on Sundays. I'm liking the staff more and more.

ODB, Jarvis Landry, and had a hand in developing Zach Miller as a TE coach in OAK. Not bad at all.

This hire is the best so far! Really hated the old wr coach under Harbaugh.

Wide receivers coach Adam Henry leaving LSU for 49ers

Wide receivers coach Adam Henry is leaving his position at LSU to join the San Francisco 49ers coaching staff, LSU officials confirmed Sunday.

Henry has coached receivers at LSU since 2012 and two of his pupils, Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry, were among the top rookies in the NFL last season.

Henry is also familiar with the Bay Area. He came to LSU from the Oakland Raiders where he coached tight ends from 2009-11 and was an offenisve quality control assistant from 2007-08.

I do not know much, if anything about Adam Henry, but I hope he was a major factor in the development of Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.

The 49ers hired former LSU wide receivers coach Adam Henry, the LSU sports information department announced on Sunday.

Henry and Ronald Curry are expected to coach the 49ers' wide receivers. Henry spent five seasons with the Raiders coaching staff, including one of the season while Curry was finishing his seven-year NFL playing career.

Henry was the Raiders offensive quality control coach in 2007 and '08 before serving three seasons as the team's tight ends coach.

In his first season as the LSU wide receivers coach, Henry coached Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.

Henry was a wide receiver at McNeese State, where he earned All-Southland Conference honors in 1993. He finished his collegiate career with 93 receptions for 1,690 yards and 16 touchdowns, all of which remain top 10 marks in school history. He spent the 1995 season on the practice squad of the New Orleans Saints.

oooooohhhhhh..... now that is the kind of news that makes my day. He sure had some spectacular talent that developed under him. From McNeese State so probably got overlooked...no longer. Adam Henry, WELCOME!

I'm excited to see what tips he can give our guys instead of "Yea just run the route" like in some of the videos I've seen of our old coach
Is there a co-WR coach position anywhere else in the NFL? Emphasis on WR and their development, not a bad thing.

Norton has no loyalty at all. He coached at USC, against UCLA where he went to school. He left USC to coach at Seattle, against his old team the Niners.

He is dead in the eyes of many UCLA fans because he coached at USC. But in fairness to Norton, one story goes that he volunteered himself to coach on former player/coach Karl Dorrell's staff at UCLA, but he got no play from Dorrell. His next option was to go work under someone he knew (Carroll).

If he were ever an option in the future, I'd be more worried about his X's and O's and any of the shadier tricks he learned from Carroll.

I think the Raiders is a good fit for him. I have no idea how his X's and O's will be, but he's always been able to get his LBs to hit people and scream really loud. If the Raiders are going to make their mark on the AFC West, they'll need a bullying defense.

I don't know if other teams do this but I prefer this over having just one coach. Wide Receiver is such a hard position to play, and these days the Slot Receiver is vastly different than Outside Receivers. Having one guy focusing on the outside guys and another on the slot receivers can really pay off big time.

Don't forget Reuben Randle in New York who's been solid.
James Wright in Cincinnati looks like he'll get a bigger role next year as well.......good hire.
