You guys think this is a joke? We blew up a top-3 or top-5 coaching staff in the league, to hire back everyone from the years when we were the worst team in the league. I'm so dumbfounded that I don't know what to say. I hope this team loses every game (it kills me to say this) so that Jed can finally get the point that he shouldn't be running this team.

What could be more of a joke than people who call themselves "Niner fans" wishing that the team loses every game? Some of you people are so butthurt that it's making you crazy. Do you really hope the Niners lose every game? Really? As Niner fans, wouldn't it be better if most of us were proven wrong and things turned out all right?

Yes, living in lala land, and being illogically optimistic I would LOVE to be wrong. But the part of me that understands the game, and the league, and the track record of the people who have been chosen to run things knows that it's very very very unlikely. And so I want a true, long-term fix. Which is for a good owner (see: Warriors, Golden State). That will only happen if Jed is forced to sell. I would rather go 0-16, have Jed step down and start a legitimate re-build that have a decade of 8-8, where Jed thinks they're about to turn the corner. I've been hopeful. With Erickson, Nolan and Singletary. Through every OC change. Why should I remain hopeful that the same staff that failed to win before, or anwywhere they've gone, will suddenly win now? Do I wish I'm wrong? Of course! But then i'm just a homer, and not a thinking fan.

If you value a grudge over team success then you may not be as big a fan as you think you are.

are people this ignorant? Why do these look like good moves to you?!?!?!? Of course I wish I'm wrong and Jed is a genius! That would be wonderful! But what leads me to believe this? So my next hope is that if he's not a genius, he's forced to sell, and find someone who is. The one thing that is most likely, and I fear most is that he's as dumb as I think he is, and he'll be around forever. That hurts.

Chryst is probably middle-of-the-pack QB coach. Would have preferred an upgrade, but also could have done a lot worse if replacing him.

The OC will be key, along with the OL coach. If they go to zone blocking with Foerster that could indeed improve the pass protection for Kaep.

I do hope Chryst is not OC though. Need someone who has called plays before.

Kyle Shanahan at OC would make sense with Foerster at the OL coach, they worked together in Washington.

I feel ya. Same kind of feelings right now. This is a complete joke. Now I know what it's like to be a Raiders fan

Please. I wouldn't have expected you to lose your mind like this, NC. Do you really believe the Yorks would sell the team after getting a new stadium built just for them? Come on.

And, bringing back Foerester as O-line coach could be a great thing. I'd like to see some zone blocking going on - they've brought in linemen who can do it and you've got to think Kaepernick could get a decent pocket a little more often with zone blocking.

Assuming that is what the plan is....if it isn't, then they're clearly in over their head.

I guess one of the things that bothers me the most is posters naturally just assuming that guys like Foerster and Tarver and Tomsula, for that matter, don't know what they're doing. Come on, everyone. Get real. These guys would never have made it to the NFL if there wasn't some talent there.

So every hire of every team is good because they're hired? 16-0 for everyone! 32 superbowl winners next year! Not the case. Most teams that blow up their teams don't know what they're doing. Else they would have had a stable coaching staff in place for a decade. Oh, and people think Foerester sucks because he's been here before.... and sucked! Big time.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, I would rather go 0-16, blah, blah, blah. Whatever. IMO, anyone who wants the Niners to lose, for any reason whatsoever, is not what I would call a good fan or even a fan at all.

It would make sense. Therefore, forget about it. I'm thinking they'll look at Mike Singletary for that role. Would be more fitting for what they're doing. Did anyone else notice that we fired the best LBs coach in the league? That made sense...

#49ers QB coach Geep Chryst remains under contract, as @mattbarrows reported, but his role on new staff is not yet defined.

You can call me what you want. I've lived and breathed this team since I was 8. I love this team more than anything, and i'm sick and tired of being hopeful of one terrible decision after another. Your anger is misguided, and should be directed towards the people ruining it.

No, but anyone already coaching in the NFL has to have some kind of talent or he wouldn't have gotten there in the first place. Pretending these guys don't know what they're doing is silly IMO.

And Foerester had a little different set of O-linemen when he was with the team before. The only guy on the team who was there when he was there is Staley. The line back then included Kwame Harris, Jonas Jennings, Tony Wragge, Adam Snyder, Justin Smiley, and David Baas at center. This group is quite a bit better.

It included 2 first round picks at OT, 2 high second round picks at OG and a 3rd round pick. If they didn't develop into good players, shouldn't some of that blame be placed with the coach?

The only team to give up more sacks than the #49ers this year? The Chris Forester-coached Washington Redskins, now the OL coach in SF.

I'm not angry with you. I just don't understand a lot of fans these days, that's all. And I'm only angry with Yorlke to a point. At some point, you simply have to acknowledge that you have no control over something like this and you're going to ride with it, roll with it, hope for the best.

Don't get me wrong here. I haven't been on board with anything that's happened so far since the season ended; none of it. But, I'm a Niner fan and I'll just hope that Tomsula and his new staff surprises everyone and rolls big time this next season. Anything else is just tilting at windmills because we are all spectators here, not players.
