How about the bye week game vs STL at home or the 10 days rest vs SEA at home on THXgiving or the loss to Drew Stanton at ARI? Drew Stanton? C'mon Vic send some heat after that scrub! Harbaugh started his career getting out to big leads then playing not to lose. Remember our first two contests at the Stick vs SEA and DAL? We went 1-1. Got up big then dialed things back playing not to lose. This trend followed JH 4 years straight meanwhile SEA has won consecutive NFCCG playing balls to the wall playing to win. I am encouraged that our players and new coaches seem to understand this

Is that the game after our bye week where we played flat at home? Or was that Rams? Either way, second half of chargers game said it all.

When your team is not showing any fight, they quit on the coaches. Once that happens there is no other remedy other than fire the coach
i hated to come to that conclusion because i did appreciate so much what jh had done for us,, but yes after we blew the big half time chargers lead, had no fire , desire from the players and coaches,, i was just worn out by all of the drama, worn out by jh who always had to generate, create or prolong drama.., suddenly his cute little catch phrases at a presser were not so cute to me when i was looking at a offense who could only score four points a game in the second half of games. however this is a positive thread, onward and upward, i do not know where it is going to end, but i am looking forward to a fresh start for all, vernon and aldon smith included.

I think the wait and see approach sounds great. Maybe these coaches will surprise us. I think this season rests squarely on Baalke and how he handles the roster between free agency and the draft. If you give this staff a supremely talented roster, they may have a shot.

The "wait and see" approach is what I'm doing, and for good reason. If the coaches we're hearing about are indeed going to be in the roles it appears they've been hired, I won't be surprised at all to see them and the team overall be very successful this year and beyond. If you really know about most/all of these coaches and have really followed NFL football for the past 20 years (or more like I have), you know these are very good football coaches at their respective roles they've been hired (again, assuming what we're hearing is correct). I don't know much about Logan, to be honest, but what I've read/heard about since he's been mentioned recently I've liked - he sounds like what this team needs, a pure teacher in coaching up the QBs, lending insight into the O scheme, etc. Yes, the pressure is on Baalke but nothing has changed there - it always is as it is with every other GM. The great news is this: The roster is already supremely talented with great talent coming back this year that was injured last year (veterans and including much of last year's draft class, which has some promising players that I'm looking forward to seeing compete and contribute to this team...guys like B. Thomas, K. Reaser, K. Acker, K. Ramsey, T. Millard, etc.). Also, we'll see what additional talent is brought in via Free Agency and this year's draft...the Niners will be adding a top talent in drafting at #15 and will add good additional talent in the subsequent rounds thereafter. So, "wait and see"? Hell yes, and for reasons such as all the above I know I'm being realistically optimistic.

again, i go back to the one little thing the new coach said at his press conference, that is if the haters were even listening.. he said he wanted to get back to having the game fun for the players. now i know its just a little thing and have no clue if that will translate to wins on the field,,, but i really latched onto that as the only little tidbit of information we were going to get about how things were going last year for the players,, now maybe when we get going in camps and practice more may come out in regards to that,, but i thought that was very interesting

I am not speaking for the other moderators here. They may have their own opinions. I think there are the ones who are giving the situation a chance to develop, the ones who have made their minds up (but will see how it goes) and the ones who are so deeply sunk in their misery and their conviction of error that they will be hoping for failure to prove them right.

I want to accommodate the first two categories and prevent deep schisms forming. But the third category, in my view, has morphed into trolling. I ban trolls.

This is a difficult time to be one of the Faithful. I don't want to see the zone tearing itself apart.

I personally think that people assume failure because then it won't hurt as much when it actually happens. Its easier to expect it coming. I did the same thing myself before the last SB and went in assuming that the Ravens were a team of destiny bound to win the game. The loss still hurt.

All that being said, I now am trying not to get too down about everything. Everyone is an unknown before they are great and our coaches and this team can have greatness ahead of them.

Yes. At times we were too wound up and it showed in the big games where we had the superior talent yet we played to tight and lost to teams like NYG BAL and SEA when we should have won. I always say we were outcoached but perhaps we were too wound tight as well

We may select earlier than Raiders in 2016.

Making sure the players are happy and having fun seems to work real well for Pete Carroll. Maybe the Bludgeon knows something a lot of people around here don't get.

Our offense will be ranked higher than Buffalo and our defense will be ranked higher than Chicago.
The only positive I can think of is even I could coach that Defense and have it be top 5. It would take a real screw up to mess that up.
Watch Geep be so good he becomes a NFL HC next year lol

If he makes the Niner offense productive enough to get close to the top ten, he'll be a hot commodity. But, on the other hand, if he has success, that will make the OC position more attractive to more candidates.
