With both Logan and Chryst having "no huddle" experience, We could see a much faster paced offense, maybe not quite no huddle,
But I expect the play call system to be more expedient,
even if it just allows Kap more pre-snap time to look over the D' and helps fix the delay of game/wasted time outs problem
Everyone wants to criticize Balke and York.. and losing Harbaugh is the end of the world.. In the games I watched Balke and York didn't have trouble scoring touchdowns in the red zone game after game! They also weren't the ones gmimacing and jumping up and down on the sidelines like it was the end of the world when "the same thing didn't work again".

Harbaugh and Roman rode Kapernick.. when he and his abilities were new to the league ...all the way to the Super Bowl. That was the key.... not Harbaughs genius!

Not trying to discredit his abilities.... but we will see what he does at Michigan...hopefully he will get a Josh Johnson(USD) or Andrew Luck!!!!

This is a very exciting aspect of the new staff! I'm sure Geep heard the negative comments about the slow offense and irritation at how often the calls delayed the game. I believe a quicker pace will:
  • Play to Kaepernick's strength--he will be even scarier if the D is still trying to regroup
  • Put pressure on the defense on the outside, helping the WRs who will already be ready
  • Allow the offense to get a rhythm and keep it for long stretches
  • Help the OL be more aggressive and at the same time be more ready to pass block

Other things will occur to us but I would love this change and still shake my head at the slow offense Harbaugh ran...going all the way back to his first year.

Great post. Its always good to look at the sum of the parts. I am excited and believe with the work Kap is doing, Logan and a refocus on the Offense we will be light years ahead. We know clearly the team to beat is Seattle and will focus on how to attach that D. Adding some young talent to the offense will help as well.

I'm a big NC State fan and became familiar with Logan in the 90's when he was with ECU. They always had a dynamic offense.

We're still learning so much about the offensive philosophies of both Geep and Logan so if you have any thoughts/ideas as to what we can expect employed here now and going forward, please provide some insight! Thanks...

I Happen to live in Seattle now so there is non stop Seahawks fans everywhere. My entire neighborhood is decked out. I still wear my Niners gear and tell those who question it that " Iron Sharpens Iron".

Logan was running a lot of no huddle back then. It will be interesting to see how him and Geep can take our current playbook, condense the verbiage a bit and get the backs involved in the passing game. I am sure that Geep has learned a lot over the years. Even with the statement by Baalke that we are going to run the ball he knows we have to be able to pass. Logan did a great job of breaking down the Superbowl and mentioned option routes in the middle of the defense as a way to attach Seattle. They have the entire offseason to come up with something and I think they will opt for a more diverse attack.

Great stuff! Hang in there...we'll return to glory. I was born and raised in that hell hole myself until I got out 14 years ago.

I'm willing to give the new changes a chance to work out. Harbaugh's offense was pathetic to watch this past year and I'm looking forward to anything looking different then what he ran. The defense should still be excellent and with new additions via the draft and free agency we should be looking at a top 10 defense.

My most favorite lines are the silver spoon line. Yet Eddie D was given the team by his dad and made plenty of mistakes but you rarely if ever hear of him as a silver spoon.people seem to forget he is the youngest owner in the NFL I believe he is 25 years old hell most of the folks on here older than 25 were spending much of their time at 25 trying to find the next girl or party.

You believe Eddie D is 25? I think you mean Jed is 25 and no, he is not 25, he is 30+ years old.

No was referring to Jed but making a silver spoon comparison to Eddie and I just saw I typed 25 he is 35 was born in 1980 I believe. He is very young to be the leader of any sports franchise and will make mistakes along the way just like my math mistake. My wife would be critical of that one since she is a math teacher

There are some pretty good defensive coaches hired, can't wait till they Hire a DL coach or does Tomsula want to do that as well.

I do think we will try to find a balance, but I am optimistic that we will utilize our best players while cleaning up the playclock issues and putting more pressure on defenses. Logan and Chryst both are known for a more "attacking" and "quick strike" mentality. But Chryst also has background in a system that employees a strong running game (see: Carolina's year they had two 1000+ yard rushers).

3) Even though the Romans crucified Jesus Christ, we crucified Greg Roman and promoted Geepus Chryst.

BwaaHaaHaaHa!!! Well thought out, and hilarious! It's a fact that Niner fans have the highest aggregate incomes of all NFL fans, I bet we're the smartest / wittiest too...

Yes, I think the quicker pace with really help the offense. Having balance is key to both the passing game and the running game, but when and where the plays are called will matter. I thought Harbaugh/Roman were too predictable and conservative most of the time...I have the feeling this will not be the case next year. So looking forward to see if my optimism is justified!
Just saw that article where the talking heads, all f'ing three of them picked us for LAST in the West next year! Like I couldn't get more pissed off about last season?! I hope everyone writes us off and out bunch of mutts coaching staff coaches the s**t out of our boys and we wreck the whole damn thing. Maybe our guys play better when backed into a corner. Every team in the West has the same strengths and weaknesses. Great defenses, with problems or questions on offense.

Awesome!! When those talking heads pick us for last, you know we're going to finish high because they are virtually NEVER right.
