I hope they make it (if we make it, but only if we make it). They only deserve to go back to the Super Bowl to lose to the 49ers...

They've oddly struggled to get to the Bowl under Lamar, but it appears they have a better team versus years past, and the competition outside of Buffalo is sketchy.
We can win 2 games and get the #1 seed. Have a little run in the playoffs. But I honestly got no confidence about a Super Bowl rematch with the Ravens. The NFC is as far as it goes.
this is an Xmas gift, wakes everyone up, and we still get the 1

You really think we can't beat a gimmick QB that puts up on average 220 yards a game 2 tds and 50 yards rushing?

We deserve to lose if we cant beat that statline.

What was their starting field position this game? Like the 50? Lamar is a freaking joke that harbaugh covers up completely with coaching.

If shanahan can't find a way to win with a team with far better talent and a better QB then its entirely on coaching imo. He's had 7 years to futz around and figure it out. If he can't win this year with so many cards in the niners favor we should move on IMO...

He should win it though. even taking a dump on Christmas.

There are exactly ZERO silver linings to the ass whoopin Kyle Shanahan took tonight, unless you believe he may finally realize that investing every resource into a sub par D line rather than O line and DB was a dumb move. I'd trade Chase Young, Randy Gregory, Clelin Ferrill and Kinlaw for ONE shutdown corner.

We didn't look like we can handle their pass rush and rangy secondary. We also can't sack Lamar. He's too fast.

Very valid thought and may well be the case (and losing this may have been the best thing that could have happened to them), but you can't out scheme 2-3 o linemen getting owned at the snap a majority of the time. Their d line manhandled our guys as the game wore on.

Let's hope Kyle eats this humble pie and adjusts much quicker to using the quicker route passing game as imo it seems most routes ran intermediate- deep this past game. More the jimmy g years type of stuff.

The only positive from this loss is that we have no choice but to knock the Rams out of the playoff race in order to lock up the number one seed. That's one less dangerous team to face in the playoffs.

the down side is that there's a good chance LA will beat us, making us the number 2 seed then having to face them again one week later.

we really needed this win vs Baltimore folks. Could've locked up the number one seed next week, then rested some key players for a couple weeks. Instead it's full steam ahead with injured guys

The only other positive thing here is that if we meet again in the SB, Kyle will know he has to change his game plan and this team will play with a fire lit under their ass. Whereas Baltimore will think they already beat us playing a certain way and won't change their game plan.

Even if we don't handle their rush if we start with CMC early and screen passes it should not matter. You can screen to deebo, mcaffrey, or kittle. A million different types of screens.

Then you have to run greenlaw in delayed blitz/spy on Lamar which we did with warner and had some success.

The only problem is flowers is like 6'4 so you can't have warner always be the spy because he will manhandle our corners and greenlaw on the check down.

That's why greenlaw has to be the spy and warner in coverage.

Wilks is too dumb to do that though I fear ...

Anyway there's the easy ravens win gameplan for shanahan and Wilkes.

Your welcome...

Did we have any sacks this game ? Any turnover ? I stopped watching at halftime, was doing other things with the tv on in the background…

Yes we had sone success on the contain and a sack with warner as a spy/delayed blitz. The only problem is the ravens receiver flowers is like 6'4 tight end playing wr and was eating us up on the check down.

Wilkes was not smart enough to put warner in coverage and make greenlaw the spy/delayed blitz every play...

Bosa was a nobody and chase young was going crazy trying to get pressure and lost inside contain multiple times around the back and let Lamar escape to his left... It burned us multiple plays

Fix the turnovers and everything else corrects itself. That's it.

They won't fix the turnovers with that awful play-calling.
