Didn't think at all this would be a loss going in but..
How about that JJ?
Purdy is a beast and Mason is tearing it up. Lots of great plays, offensively. Fun to watch.

Its a long season. Will get our key players back. We need to make a trade for a pass rusher imo

That needed to happen this past offseason to give this team any chance this year. This window closed last Feb. This has been an anomalously long window but unfortunately we have a coach who isn't good enough.

Offense isn't the problem. Defense is, and outside of Greenlaw, this is the unit we're fielding. Up to this point, it looks like the worst unit we've had since 2019, and that says a lot given we had Wilks last year…

Correct me if I'm wrong, but nobody got hurt against the rams correct? If we are fortunate- we can have everyone back by mid season and into form.

We are one game closer to a new DC and ST coach.

Our team seems to lack some fire and intensity of these other teams.
Maybe us struggling early in the season will help us long term. If we have to fight to get into the playoffs and are the 6th or 7th seed, maybe we will stop buying into our own hype. Being the one seed wasn't all that great for us last year as we almost blew both playoff games. It took some luck and waking up half way through the game.

Purdy is good and isn't the problem.
That's pretty much all I've got. And with how this team works, he'll probably stink the moment he gets paid, too.

Purdy, JJ, Mason and Fred. We run out of Silver after that.

We still have our first round pick which looks like it will be in the teens at worst.
We don't have good enough players or coaches to be a Super Bowl contender in 2024.
Mistakes in talent evaluation and drafting have ensured that this roster is weaker than it is cracked up to be.

Come on. I'm a big critic of Shanahan right now but get real. We have this discussion every time there's a big loss.
Kyle is not going anywhere. Period. Outside of Andy Reid, he has an argument for strongest job security in the NFL. Say all you want about "no Super Bowl win tho " but he already has as many playoff wins as Mike Tomlin in 10 fewer seasons. He's been to four NFC Championship games in the last five seasons. Most franchises would kill to just go to one in five seasons.
To top it off, who on earth are you going to replace him with? Some college rando is not going to come in and just win a Super Bowl outside of maybe Jim Harbaugh, and there are no other Jim Harbaugh's in college football right now or anyone close to him.
