I have no silver lining. Ugly loss. This isn't a playoff team now and even if they get into the offs they will get bounced. Something drastic needs to happen. Trade for a lb or safety.

If James Conner can run at will on this team what would an actually great running team like the Lions do to this defense?

They should have beaten us last year

I wouldn't get your hopes up. They don't want to invest in OL versus playmakers according to Kyle.

that has to be the old thinking....

There is no real way to justify taking a RB, when CMC has his money on the books, and you have one of the leading rushers in the NFL as a backup.

There is no real way to justify a WR, you got 3 guys under contract...in some cases making tons of money...and just drafted another one in the first round.

Maybe....MAYBE....if there is an insane TE...they take one....

After that.... it is a battle between the defense, or protecting your MVP QB....

Gods honest truth.....I kinda wish this happened last year, if it would trigger a soft reboot. They got a ton of money on the books that will not equal winning football
It feels like moving Deebo allover the offense, is no longer pushing defenses to shift coverage around....and the dude is an expensive decoy. BA as good as his first half was....dude is not a 30m game changer at WR.

The silver lining to this is at least smoke and mirrors is not covering up the issues....so maybe they can have a frank and honest conversation about what needs to change.

Kyle/Foerster. What the last few years has proven is that we don't need more playmakers. We need OL that can run and pass block, competently, as a unit, consistently. Especially with a guy like Brock. He's reverting back to bad habits because of the chaos and even instances where there is good pass pro.

We don't need another receiver. Don't need another running back (earlier than round 5). Could argue for an edge rusher and DT, but Dline has had their turn. On day 1 on 2 the ONLY reasonable picks are offensive tackle, guard, center, and free safety. Coincidentally we have four picks for days 1 and 2. No excuse to come away with a minimum of two of those positions locked down with a day 1 starter.

Fixing that will help the defense enough. Then get another space eater. We honestly need two DJ Jones types to rotate and keep each other fresh. That will give Hargrave better opportunities to do what he does best next year. We have got to get back to shutting down the run, consistently.
Win Thursday and it's a whole new season. That's all I've got. If we lose though… oof.

Lose and we're on track for a top 10 pick in every round.

After what we've seen against the Rams and cards, it's hard to hope for the W but who knows. If we can some how get a W, we have a long rest period before the next game.

That and we'll at the very least be tied for the division lead going into the Chiefs game. That would honestly be hilarious after the ****show so far.

Well took a few hours to get over the loss but I'm starting to have hope again for Thursday 🙏
If we win thursday we are in 1st
A high pick that they will waste on another WR. Instead of fixing OT, DT, CB, S, RB depth, LB.
Vegas has us favored by 3 points at Seattle. First place here we come!!!
