The season is done, time to close the book and look fwd to next year. We need to play the young guys and evaluate.

Us not making the playoffs is good for all our core players and coaches mental health. I don't think they've recovered from last years super bowl lost totally yet. This will help reignite their hunger and desire for next year and be better mentally.

The silver lining to the rest of this season is to tank the last three games! The team better make sure they are in position to get one of those offensive tackles or defensive lineman that are mocked between 10 and 20!

Better draft slot. Better idea about what fat to trim from the roster.

Our defense looked great with greenlaw and Hufunga back. Hope we can retain them in 2025 and:
cut or re-restructure hargrave to a team friendlier
cut deebo
cut juice
Get Mitchel, Mason and CMC healthy… pick two to keep
sign purdy so long as he isn't being outrageous in what he's asking for
grab the best lineman available in the draft… either side of the ball
New punter… araiza is changing the game
New special teams coach
Acquire special teams talent
upgrade at defensive coordinator. Our d looked good last night….. could be because we got some key players back, bad weather, or maybe the coach is doing a better job? Whatever it takes to sustain last nights defensive performance, do that.
quality FA acquisitions for depth on the dline, and potentially one starter on the o-line (center?)
that would be my perfect scenario. The rookie receivers should get some reps to finish this year and be ready for 2025

I wouldn't say it's good, but it'll force a quicker reset, and make this offseason far more ruthless when it comes to overhauling the roster.

This year made u realize that the name was better than the Talent.
Ayuik made deebo look better.
McCaffrey made the o line look average.
Huff is only as good as the LB
Bosa isn't a one man wrecking crew. He needs to have a stud in the middle.

Maybe a full time OC to give Shanahan a break?

i agree he needs a break, but i do think that's his strongest suit, handling the playsheet. i'd give him a break in his other duties. but we are of like mind that he's probably got too much on his plate.

They're already playing a lotof young guys because of injuries. They're playing their 4th string RB. Pearsall has been playing. They've started a rookie guard all season They have some young DBs that have played a lot. I'm not sure how many more young guys they have. Cowing looks like a deep threat but Purdy hasn't been throwing deep very well. They even have a backup punter. Who's left?

Shut down time.
Fred needs to heal that foot/Ankle, lets see what Winters/Graham/ White got
Shut down Trent
Shut down Bosa he can coach up Sam/Beal and Gross Matos up on his moves
Shut down Dre get a good secure repair on that Achilles
If we can get Dre and Huff back it will be a good offseason. If not the front office has its work cut out for it.

is it a silver lining to say we won't have to endure a brutal playoff defeat?
