By taking a consistent superbowl contender and ripping the head of the coaching staff, the sheer brazeness of the action (which is clearly against the best interests of the team) have so horrified and shocked the fan base that fan expectations have dropped from superbowl or bust (York's stated expectation when firing Harbaugh, which he is already back pedaling from) to "it's been a good 2015 if the 49ers DON'T own the #1 pick in 2016).

Truth is, this roster gets a bit weaker every year that the roster gets further away from being a McCloughan roster and closer to a Baalke roster. My guestimate is that in 2015 we are around average overall talent 8-8. We now have a decidedly average coaching staff, coaching decidedly average players. The predicted outcome of the mediocre matching would be 8-8 with random outcomes of close games putting the prediction of our actual record between 6-10 and 10-6. New coaching staffing should bring fresh energy that can win an extra game or two early in the season, pushing us to the upper end of this range. So, 9-7 or 10-6 is a very realistic outcome for Tomusula's first season.

The Jed and Trent genius is that homers will now call 9-7 or 10-6 a great outcome and validation for firing Harbaugh. They will point out that it's a better record that Harbaugh last season, conveniently ommitting the fact that the last season was marred by injuries and negative news leaks on a scale never seen in football history. They will conveniently ignore, you know, the other 3 seasons where we contended for a superbowl. They will most certainly ignore Jed's superbowl or bust declaration. A 9-7 or 10-6, will give Jed and York and those stretching for hope, all they need to say 2016 is really THE year. One more "reload" to "push us over the top", maybe we will even resurrect "being a bully". And most importantly, Jed and Trent will feel less threatened, more appreciated, and most importantly, more credited with the "success" of the team. And they will take a 9-7 that they get credit for, over a 13-3 where they don't.

Dude, are you really so insecure that you have to deliberately bring a negative rant into a thread that was designed specifically for positivity? You have a right to feel the way you do. That doesn't mean that you must feel compelled to rant in every conceivable thread. We are happy here. Go be miserable elsewhere. I promise there's a place for you; that place is not this thread.

Well Bellichik the GM just put OUR GM to shame with the shrewd moves he made to get Revis and Browner to plug the holes in their D. He also got a cancer like Blount to give him a sledgehammer at RB. Bold moves that won them a Super Bowl. Where's Baalkes bold moves? I know they're coming because this is the positive thread and it's full of sunshine and happiness.

Blount = 14 carries for 40 yards, 2.9 average. Bet Gore might be able to do that.

Baalke moves: J Smith, C Rogers, Boldin, Goodwin, Bethea, Cox, Dawson...yeah, he just can't find any good FAs.

^^^ OFF WITH HIS HEAD!
Thanks to a stupid and now questionable call, we can all sit back and laugh at the Seachickens. I'm sure they celebrated our super bowl loss just the same. But at the end of the day do we really have the right to laugh? The past three seasons they've pretty much owned us and to see certain teams do to them what our team can't is kinda scary considering we face em twice a season. I know they aren't the only team in the NFL but the way we looked last year doesn't give much hope. So many questions loom before the draft and the biggest question of all is a wait and see with how the season goes. I'll always cheer on my team but with all that's happened, any hopes of a super bowl win let alone the playoffs are just that, hopes.

Some are having a difficult time with the term Silver Lining, so...

"Phrase used to tell someone that there is a brighter side to the problem they are facing. the phrase comes from the fact that, every dark rain cloud has a silver edge, or lining."
