It'll be great getting back to wins and zero JH drama and sideline tantrums.

I really liked Harbaugh, but I couldn't stop wondering if his antics on the sideline actually led to worse calls by the refs. They couldn't have appreciated his calling them out over and over every game.

and then at the end of the past year he lost all and any passion because he realized he and roman were unable or unwilling to fix what ever was wrong. all of a sudden, no one wanted to wear the blue denim work shirts or laugh at his cute little sayings in a presser or chant whose got it better

Wow it's amazing how quickly have you guys turned on Harbaugh.
I'm looking forward to winning a challenge or two this season

Why does it have to be turned? Its not that black and white.

Most respect what he did but his sideline act was childish and wearing thin. IMO he seemed to realize he was ridiculous and got better last year but there were still plenty of times where all a fan could respond with was "Whelp, thats our coach."

Let's be clear on this - are you saying that if someone expresses the idea that Harbaugh's sideline antics were a bit worrisome from the standpoint of his relationship with the refs, this means that person has "turned on" Harbaugh? That's a reach IMO.

Besides. Jim Harbaugh is no longer the Head Coach of the Niners. Why do you care about whether or not Niner fans still like him?

We got boned a LOT by the refs while Harbaugh was our coach. Correlation may not equal causation, but...yeah, refs are human and I'm sure screaming at them on every play didn't help our cause.

I can agree with this.

Well I just remember during the season some of us were saying what you guys are saying now about Harbaugh and a lot of people got all defensive and bunched us up with the Cohn's and Kawakami's.

I always supported Harbaugh and thought it was crazy for the team to part ways with him. But at the same time, I was always squeamish about the way he would hassle the refs and act on the sideline. I don't know how any fan could be comfortable with that because what was the point of all that running around and throwing tantrums? It's a moot point. The team moved on and so have I.

if you are supposed to be the second coming of bill walsh,, how the hell can you not figure out a nfl playclock or when to use a challenge flag after four years in the damn league? i know trent and jed were blocking the radio transmitters so they would slow down the play calls coming down in order to make roman and jh look back,, but my lord.

say what? lol

did you feel like chanting whose got it better after we lost to the raiders? he is the one who lost the players starting with the seattle game,, we knew he would only be around for five years at best because that is who he is,, and are you telling us you are fine and happy with all of the things he and his fat little henchmen were either unable or unwilling to fix?

thats right,, till i saw him lose the team vs seattle and then the second half fiasco vs the chargers, that was it,, good bye jh,, thank you for bringing us back from the dead but it is obvious, you have reached your limit with us and perhaps in the nfl as a whole with your college stuff. now continuing with the original theme of this thread,,,,,, i am thrilled about the changes,, i am thrilled we have less coaches than in years past, i am thrilled we no longer have a micro manager coach who will let his coaches coach, i am thrilled we have one locker room, no drama and it sounds like we have a bunch of coach who can coach and teach the players to be better and to have fun again
I'm now over the trauma enough to look at the possible positive aspects of this…We have some very seasoned pros on this team. If they can truly be more involved in managing themselves and providing input to the coaches that could be a real positive. JT is very well liked and not just because he's a people guy. He is very good as a coach and great as a teacher. If he can teach the other coaches how to mentor like he has with the DL, that could be very good. Listened to a video in which Justin Smith praised him up and down and said he knew he would be watching him on sundays for many years. There may be some talent hiding in him that will come to the surface. We do have to give him a chance. If he has a gift for creating a strong cooperative even co-creative atmosphere he might unleash a lot of hidden potential.

I do have to mention some concerns even on this positive thread because they relate to what I just wrote. I'm concerned that Baalke wants to control way to much and important things that the coaching staff should control like the roster and the defensive and offensive schemes. If he is really wanting to be the dictator behind it all and he's not qualified it could all go to hell quickly.

The other thing we have to face is that Jed York still considers anything less than a Lombardi a failure. How does that factor into all this? Will this new regime get a couple of years before being fired if they don't go the whole way?

Bottom line, my biggest concerns are York and Baalke. They are still in control there's huge issues afoot about their competence.

I liked him a lot, too and thought he was hilarious on the sidelines/in front of the media, but.....

Even the few refs that didn't mind Jim, would throw the flag when in doubt (IMO). They probably figured, (what the heck) the other refs do it/won't mind. It was like clockwork, he was flag prone and dips**t officials hated his guts

I don't know how much of a spectacle Tomsula will be (maybe not at all), but I just hope he doesn't piss off the refs as often as Harbs. He kinda looks/seems funny and personable enough for the media

I think is a competent owner and same for Baalke as GM. They are not coaches or strategists. I know they're intelligent enough to know it too. They've hired the coach that hired the coaches. They've gotten the stadium and resources. They're adding the talent. They've set the bar at Super Bowl or bust. Noe they will let the coaches coach. It is still February. Rest easy my son. I'm glad my partners are allowing themselves to come around. It was all gloom and doom last month
