Lets celebrate hopefully after TC& pre-season
Point well taken.. It does make me think back to the very first thing Kyle did once he landed in camp. Fired our trainer and brot in his own. After 3 consecutive yrs of ending the season wiht 17 guys on IR, it was pretty obvious that something was bad wrong at Trainer's slot. Yes, some of that was baalke, with his chronic ACL picks but it was definitely an essential we had to turn around. We could have been that unlucky, but kyle was right .There was a disconnect somewhere with our trainer. NOBODY goes 17 guys on IR 3 yrs running. Yet amongst many of our screwups, that was us. And the fact kyle honed in on that and changed it his 2nd day here was definitely informational. It was a statement: "something is bad wrong if 9ers had been averaging 17 guys on IR each yr". That is exaclty 1 out of every 3 players every yr being out . Nobody can take 1/3 of their team away every yr and still compete. That meant we were using just 36 of the guys who made our 53. And that spells defeat and disaster no matter who you are.

Once that was Kyle's first move...i was hooked. 2 days in, no less.

You nailed it doc.

2016 = 22 --- 2015 = 17 --- 2014 = 21

That's 60 players on I.R. over the past 3 years. Throw in the 2015 off season from hell where we lost all our veterans and went from the 26th oldest team to the 3rd youngest in a matter of a few months, plus terrible coaching and you have the fluster cuck we had. Heck, that didn't even include the other significant injuries players were trying to play through because we had so many unavailable players.

In fact, since the 2012 season, can you name one time where we started the same unit (offense or defense) two weeks in a row?

How do you know a regime is starting to change directions?

How about ZERO injuries and players put on I.R. through a full training camp? That's one hell of a start...for us...in particular.

So the silver lining is that we may have a lot more talent than we've realized... but because they were so young and injured, we never got much of a chance to see it.

Maybe this year, we'll get to see it.

There is an incredible correlation to playoff teams and the number of missed games to injuries. On one side of the threshold, you have almost zero chance of making the playoffs, on the other, you're odds are terrific.

Can we finally make that threshold and give ourselves a chance?

We knew about it.. We just didnt have any depth which was a serious issue as well.

Feel good about both now going forward.

Jeez, NC, and here i thot it was 17/yr and it was 20. Thanks for getting it right...which was even more odious. And yes, like you and Smokes, I sure would like to keep it at that number...zero... thruout the season.

I was aware of the # of injuries and failure to achieve correlation. For some reason I never put those together with the mass exodus of 2015. Yikes , when you did that, some guys on the WZ might have been called upon just to have enough to field a team.

Let's just hope that is in the rear view mirror and doesn't resurface.

Yeah, it was the perfect storm of poor ownership decisions, one man running the whole FO, and am incredible string of bad luck...but...

...damn, it ultimately lead to the perfect storm of all I wanted too so yin and yang, I guess.
Regime change is good for the soul isnt it nc and paso. I sleep at night pretty well, i know you're interested.

No question. And it's not just the regime change, but the change to the right regime IMHO. Best WCO X's and O's OC in the game, a President of Football Operations back in the house, a FO totally restructured with all levels if expertise and experience, an an off season plan that was clear, calculated and followed to a tee, the return of the 4-3_under, alumni celebrated and back in the house, etc.

I couldn't be more happy!

By serendipity or shrewd planning, we might just have football operations that fit your sunshine message.

Enjoy these times that align the propoganda with the content.

Me?

Have to admit Brodie, i thot this was not going to happen. Only way i saw out of our going down Le toilet was to sell the team. I never saw this coming and certainly did not expect it from the Yorks. On their behalf, or Jed's i will say they finally did the right thing, and have paved our way out of the shidder. But it happened so i am happy as a clam. To get kyle AND lynch...wow, that was a double dip.

York's flat out changed course in the middle of the stream. Of course that stream was just starting to get the runoff from the 147 ft snowpack in the sierras, meaning a flood is coming....both literally and figuratively. Another yr like last yr, and this franchise would have devalued from $3billion to half that, maybe less , including the damn stadium. They would have totally dismantled the entire DeBartolo history and achievements. Somebody finally woke up. Maybe it was the snowpack melt.
Hopefully next year we'll have someone on the top 100 players list.

Yes. Exactly. No explanation.

I don't even think it should be analyzed or we will jinx it. lets move on.
