Silver lining: don't have to pay anyone big money and still the world champions in cap space.
Cam barely started throwing today?.. that's a lil of an advantage come week 1 lol.
Silver lining - Kyle and the coaching staff gonna make us better.
Think about this one a moment. Sept 2nd, there will be 1184 guys cut in the NFL. Now we have to know who wants what on our lower team ladder, and who has something /someone that if cut would be a perfect fit here. John has already been looking at all those possibilities , no doubt. That entails being on good terms with 31 other guys, which he has already shown he could do. In a matter of a few moments, some GMs are going to call and make an offer or ask for an offer and John is going to have to get back with them almost immediately. Somewhere out there will be some really good pieces we need, and john being on the overprepared side, will be ready to take advantage and have all the guys he's interested memorized. In a very few short moments, ( and probably during the few days beforehand amongst GMs ) john will have the ability to take advantage to make some bang bang quick like answers which could truly land us a couple spectacular players in exchange for a couple late picks in 2018.

Somehow, i bet he comes thru for us and lands us another player or two that will surprise us. Bets would be CB, OL, LB. The massive cuts all at once may just be one more thing to give us an edge this yr. And you know John will come well prepared for this . Once again, glad he is our man not the last one.
LOL @ all the people on the first page crying that we should be more positive. we were just being realistic. and for good reason.

So negative = realistic (only if it turns out that way, of course)?

Anyone can be that... let's strive for objectivity.

What do you have for this year in terms of objective optimism (sticking with the thread theme).

I'm sorry that around January of 2015 people like you couldn't see the reality of what was about to come the following season.

Glad our "negativity" turned out to be justified.

Haha...well that's sad. But anyone can be a cynic or stay with the safe negative posts. No positive person is going to run back to 2015 posts and say, "Haha, you were wrong!"

On the flip side, that's the FIRST thing cynics do to posters who envision a positive spin potentially.

So, 'put yourself out there' as we'd love to hear what your silver lining positive objective projections will be.

I've only been talking about and reacting to the posts made after harbaugh was fired and 'sula was announced. it's just funny to me. worst offseason in franchise history and the biggest joke of a hire of all-time and people were crying (like you) at the "negativity" aka the realists, lol. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than be optimistically in denial only to be let down.

Also, TBF, 2015 was the off season from hell that NOBODY saw coming.

On the last day of February, per Cohn, this was supposed to be our starting team...we all know all hell broke loose right after this and the team went from a veteran playoff caliber team and the 26th oldest team in the NFL to the 6th youngest in a matter of a few months.

From (to by the end of the season):

QB Kaepernick (Gabbert)
WR Patton (Torrey)
WR Boldin (Same)
WR Ellington (Same)
LT Staley (Same)
LG Thomas (Tiller)
C Martin (Kilgore)
RG Boone (Pears/Devey)
RT Davis (Pears/Brown)
TE Davis (McDonald)
MTE McDonald (Bell)
FB Miller (Same)
RB1 Hyde (Gaskins)
RB2 Hunter (Harris)

LDE Dorsey (Armstead)
NT Williams (Same)
RDE Smith (Purcell/TJE)
SAM Lynch (Same)
TED Willis (Wilhoite)
MIKE Bowman (Same)
WILL Aldon (Brooks)
LCB Brock (Same)
RCB Johnson (Acker)
SCB Ward (Reaser)
SS Bethea (Ward)
FS Reid (Same)

But I'm sure you knew all this would happen, right?
